Langoustine Posted August 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2018 A low budget in February (the height of the tourist season) is going to be extremely limiting even if you stay by the airport. Take a look at the Nuvo Suites Miami Airport West. I'm seeing rates of $105 in early February on Trivago. Just be aware that the airport is miles from anything interesting or scenic. Rare Noxequifans Posted August 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2018 TripAdvisor reviews of Nuvo Suites are 20% poor or terrible .... quite high.

BNBR Posted August 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Your best bet is checking booking websites for a good rate, then check the reviews and see if you can deal with it. AirBnb is another option you may want to consider. There are very inexpensive places to sleep in Miami, it just may not be the quality you want, or it you may be the type of person who is totally fine with it considering the hundreds of dollars you save. Also, the Hilton Blue Lagoon is showing a pretty good rate for February on Google. Might be worth looking at.
Flymia Posted August 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2018 "resturant within walking distance...airport shuttle" That is almost impossible to find. You need to pick one other the other. Do your absolute best looking for a place in Downtown Miami/Brickell area. That is where you want to be.

Larger airport hotels like the Hilton have several dining options as well as both airport and cruise port shuttles. There are a couple of restaurants nearby as well. Not a bad option. Affordable too. Langoustine Posted August 16, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2018 What we're all getting at, I think, is consider renting a car; it will open up many more possibilities.
Clarasgrandma Posted August 27, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2018 We stayed at Days inn Miami airport North which has free shuttle from airport and to POM. It is also near a few Cuban restaurants, a Subway and a McD all within walking distance as well as a little convenience store.
JohninDC Posted August 27, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2018 To enjoy Miami and have lots of local dining options within walking distance, you'll need to stay downtown. Staying by the airport means you'll spend your time & savings on taxis heading to/from downtown and South Beach. Hampton Inn Mary Brickell is often suggested on these boards, with a free breakfast, good rooms, and many nearby dining/shopping & sightseeing options. Budget and dates will help the suggestions to be closer to your target - as stated above, Feb is peak tourist season, and holiday weekends in Feb are even steeper!
