amscene1 Posted August 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2018 (edited) Okay, So there will be 4 oasis class ships in Florida this winter season and in a few years 5. I heard Galveston might get one for the summer months but that means 3 in Florida in the summer (like next summer) and one in The Mediterranean in summer. Do you think prices will eventually fall off? Is there enough ports to sustain five oasis class ships in the Caribbean in the winter? Crazy to see a port like Miami alone will have in 2019: 2 oasis class ships Ncl encore Ncl escape Msc seaside Msc meriviglia Msc Armonia Disney Magic Explorer of the seas Navigator of the seas Celebrity infinity 3-4 carnival ship including horizon Fort Lauderdale will host; Allure of the seas Celebrity reflection Celebrity edge Independence of the seas Adventure of the seas Serenade of the seas Carnival triumph Royal princess Regal princess 3-4 holland America Princess possibly (doesent show up yet but they should return) This is a lot of cruise rooms to fill. My question is don’t you think we will see some tremendous value next winter with all the influx of new ships and extra cabins available? Rare Shippy Posted August 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2018 They already have...... We are sailing on the Allure next month in an OWNERS SUITE for $2000.pp Gratuities prepaid and $100. onboard credit not sure about the cheaper cabins because they say they always go first as some people do not really care about their rooms. But if you just keep watching internet agencys....not RC advertised sales....you will stumble randomly on tremendous sales on suites. When we booked this cruise, JS were $1250. & GS $1600. Biker19 Posted August 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2018 My question is don’t you think we will see some tremendous value next winter with all the influx of new ships and extra cabins available? It would be very difficult to determine if there are any bargains whether it was due to competition or simply over supply. It also depends on your definition of "tremendous" - $500 insides on Oasis class ships are already commonly available.
Rare Shippy Posted August 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2018 wasn't sure what category you were interested in. I do not follow prices for inside cabins but know the prices on suites and there are some really good buys out there. We booked in February for this September. Within a week of our booking, all the suites were gone. There are still quite a few of the other category cabins so I assume their price must not be quite as good a savings as we are just a few weeks from sailing. MSC also has some very good pricing. I think it is the glut of ships. Although cruiselines keep thinking of extras to charge for, It is still a great way to vacation at a reasonable price. Ken at the beach Posted August 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Take a look at Oasis and Allure. Quite reasonable prices on the 2 older sisters much of the time. The younger sisters Harmony and Symphony are commanding a premium.

The younger sisters Harmony and Symphony are commanding a premium. True. We looked at Harmony first and it was MUCH higher but nothing wrong with the 'older sisters'. Actually looked up the Symphony for the same time next year but didn't even get to the cabin prices. The fact that it will be going out of Port Canaveral makes it a bit more expensive to get to. An inside cabin guarantee is listed for $449.pp on our Allure cruise. There are LOTS of balconies still available so good chance of upgrade since the ship leaves in 3 weeks. Rare Shippy Posted August 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2018 Well, this clears up any discussion about pricing and availability on Oasis class ships because of the glut of ships in the Caribbean....... I had mentioned the great price we got on our Owner's suite on the Allure, sailing in a couple of weeks. We booked last February. I just received an email from Club Royale, Royal's casino club, offering free outside staterooms for not only our cruise but also the rest of September and October on a lot of different dates on the Oasis, Allure AND Harmony. Seems there is LOTS of availability.

I booked the 3 of us into an Allure inside cabin for $1,600 total during the Kids Sail Free event at the beginning of July. 3 weeks later the same cabin is $3,042 for 3 people. What a difference! I think I totally stumbled upon a sale by chance.
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted August 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2018 It also depends on your definition of "tremendous" - $500 insides on Oasis class ships are already commonly available. but not during the school and holiday breaks and not for a room of 3-4 people. heck, when Independence was a brand new ship, we sailed it for $258pp on a 7 day cruise. Not during a school break, though. Now, that's a bargain.
