jmspls72 Posted August 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Is Skagway the only port where one can take a scenic train ride besides the ride from Seward to Anchorage. I am planning a private transfer for that part of the journey Also if you do a train excursion Do you have to book through celebrities excursion desk. Denny01 Posted August 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2018 We booked a private tour into the Yukon via a small bus with 12 of us and then came back via the train. It was part of the tour, so look for those types of tours. They are great. And for more options, yes, go to the ports of call, or check your Roll Call for that cruise to see if anyone is setting up a private tour. Mr. Click Posted August 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2018 We used Chlicoot Charters for our train tour in Skagway. They have a number of options including taking the train up and a mini bus back for some different views. The picked us up at the ship, took us to the train. For the return we boarded the mini bus, enjoyed the ride back and were offered the option of being dropped in town or at the pier.
Northern Aurora Posted August 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2018 On the Alaska Railway the scenery between Seward and Anchorage is very scenic. Out of Skagway the historic White Pass and Yukon Railway runs during the tourist season. It's route is also very scenic.
