momto2js Posted August 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2018 My boys and I will be in Cozumel for the day in October. We work at Woodward in PA for the summer and we are all interested to see the facility located at the Rivera Maya Hard Rock Hotel. We have 8 am to 7pm in port, so MAYBE it is doable. Ferry across to the mainland and then taxi the 20 miles to the hotel. Question is, reasonably safe or totally insane?
JohninDC Posted August 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Reasonably safe and a little bit crazy ;) - lots to do on Coz without leaving the island and spending a good part of your day going to and from.
momto2js Posted August 21, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted August 21, 2018 I know but we were "stranded" on the island 5 days last fall, and well something different might be nice.

I take it this was not by choice? We have done land vacations on the mainland AND on the island and enjoy both. There would have to be a compelling reason for me to go to the mainland on a cruise day but if this is your only opportunity, not that difficult if you watch the ferry schedules and ship time /local time. Don’t leave it until the last ferry and assume you will get on and factor in ferry rides both ends.
