On Celebrity you can bid for an upgrade. Is there something similar on Royal?

No...not true. The only thing you lose after final payment date is the ability to take price reductions on your currently booked cabin due to lowered fares.

 

I love watching price drops after final. If a higher cat cabin comes in considerably lower...I call to have myself upgraded for little, to sometimes

no extra cost. :cool:

Not entirely true. You have to receive the Move Up Offer to bid. Not everyone gets one. And, it's only available for certain ships. So, you have to be booked on a sailing where they are offering the Move Up and be one of the selected that are invited to bid.
