SallyPilot Posted August 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Once I get on board if I want to add gift cards to my sign and sail account do I have to go to guest services? Or can I just use the kiosk? I’d rather not wait in the line if I can avoid it. I’ve also considered buying cruise cash before hand with the gift cards and applying that to my sign and sail. I am guessing I can do that before I board?? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
bury me at sea Posted August 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2018 You can buy cruise cash with gift cards, but remember it is non-refundable so buy only what you know you will use. I have read here that you can apply them at the kiosks. I buy cruise cash, and add more at guest services when necessary. There are many times of the day and evening when there's little to no line. Happy sailing.

christyran1228 Posted August 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I added enough cruise cash to get me through the first 1-2 days when the lines at GS are the worst. :)
lennythenose Posted August 25, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2018 The kiosks say you can add gift cards and I’ve read of people doing it. I have never been able to but I have only tried on a couple of ships. It would error and say to go to Guest Services. I always have the account set up with a credit card so I just wait until later in the cruise when there is no line to apply my gift cards.
joepeka Posted August 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2018 My experience with the kiosks and GC's is as others have mentioned - though it's advertised you can apply the GC's to your on board account with the kiosk, it will often spit out and error saying to visit Guest Services. Either that or the line at the kiosk is about as long as the GS line.
Laurab23 Posted August 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I did it at the kiosk in Feb on Pride. Laura

bnorris10 Posted August 26, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2018 My last cruise in June was on carnival legend and you were NOT able to use kiosk the GS lady told me you always had to go to GS - so either plan ahead and buy cruise cash or try to hit GS when the line is not so busy

Guest services will almost always apply the full balance, even when you've asked them to only apply a certain amount.
sept2405 Posted August 26, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I always take gift cards with me and add them at the kiosk. It’s pretty simple.
Joebucks Posted August 26, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I've never been able to add a gift card at a kiosk. It's almost like they purposely do it to advertise for FTTF or cruise cash.

Doggielover68 Posted September 8, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 8, 2018 It seems to depend on the kiosk. It is supposed to work, but last time both of the kiosks wouldn't allow me to key in the number, so I had to go to guest services Sent from my iPad using Forums
bnorris10 Posted September 8, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 8, 2018 is there kiosk's on Carnival Miracle ? there are kiosk on all ships It seems to depend on the kiosk. It is supposed to work, but last time both of the kiosks wouldn't allow me to key in the number, so I had to go to guest services Sent from my iPad using Forums the guest service manager says that none of the ships will allow you to add gift cards at the kiosk even though it shows that you should be able to they don't allow it anymore I guess because of all kinds of fraud with the giftcards
NHNEV2003 Posted September 8, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 8, 2018 We've used the kiosks numerous times to add gift cards to our accounts. We will add a few at a time over the course of a week. The only problem we had was the lines at the kiosks--we've learned to go at off-peak times. We will not stand in line at Guest Services.
Rare Saint Greg Posted September 8, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 8, 2018 I tried to add gift cards at two kiosks on the breeze and it didn't work. I just wait until a time when there's no line a guest services and add them then.

wtwien Posted September 9, 2018 #20 Share Posted September 9, 2018 You can buy cruise cash with gift cards, but remember it is non-refundable so buy only what you know you will use. You can add your cruise cash to your casino bank account on a slot machine and then just cash it out and take your sail and sign card to the casino cage and cash out a get real cash. Lovefuninthesun Posted September 10, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Have always had to go to GS to add gift cards. And people: cruise cash and gift cards are not the same thing! (She asked about gift cards, BTW.) Gift cards are refundable; cash is not.
