Sponge4God Posted September 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Always went on Royal Caribbean and Norweigen and now our daughter and her family want to go on Carnival and wants my wife and I to go with her. Most things I see about this ship looks really nice. Can someone give personal feedback about balcony rooms, food quality and do they have a walking track? Thanks ahead of time ! dmdiver Posted September 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Breeze is one of my favorite ships. The decor is nice. Yes, there is a walking track up on one of the upper outside decks. I like the food & generally feel no need to use the extra $$ restaurants. The standard balconies are nice, but small - still I think the same size as Royal's standard balconies. I think the cabins are a little larger - seems like the shower was as well. Plenty of storage space, too. Guy's Burgers are better than Johnny Rocket's and they don't cost extra. Red Frog Pub is a fun place to hang out, play games, listen to music. It also has an outside seating area as well. I also enjoy the water slides and ropes course. Blue Iguana Cantina is pretty good as well.
kona_wahine Posted September 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Breeze is my favorite ship so far. There is a walking track but you an also go to deck 5 which goes all the way around the ship. That’s where I liked to walk. More room, less people. bury me at sea Posted September 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2018 The Breeze is my favorite ship. Stunning atrium, calm decor. Walk around deck 5. Food is normal cruise food; service is outstanding. Cove balconies, if forward of mid-ship elevators, are amazing. So close to the water, and convenient for disembarking and embarking on port days. Cloud 9 Spa is wonderful. Just try that T-pool. Sea day brunch menu is varied enough to eat there multiple times. Various included-in-fare lunch options. Decent specialty restaurants, though I prefer the the MDR. She's a beautiful ship, easy to navigate, with an outstanding crew. Thrill Theatre a lot of fun for younger children, and inexpensive. Club O2 great for teenagers. It feels like a ship, not a shopping mall. Views of the water from every deck. In case I was too subtle, I love the Breeze and think she offers something for every age group.

Can't tell you all love the ship lol.....was looking briefly at the Cove Balcony and the Cloud Spa Balcony. Are the balconies bigger than the normal balcony? Didn't look like a big price difference unless I didn't look close enough. One odd question, does Carnival serve Diet Pepsi or diet coke? I always get a soda package but hate coke lol Sent from my SM-J727VPP using Forums mobile app
MeHeartCruising Posted September 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Always went on Royal Caribbean and Norweigen and now our daughter and her family want to go on Carnival and wants my wife and I to go with her. Most things I see about this ship looks really nice. Can someone give personal feedback about balcony rooms, food quality and do they have a walking track? Thanks ahead of time ! I liked the Breeze. I also compare to both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. I think you'll like the ship just fine. There are minor differences that you'll notice, but I don't think they should bother you. I do find that I would rank Carnival's food to be in 3rd place between the 3 lines. But it's acceptable and not awful. I just prefer the other 2 lines a bit more. Cabin sizes vary depending on which ships you've been on. But they are in the same ballpark as both of the other lines. Room accommodations are more similar than different. I prefer the Entertainment on Royal and NCL over Carnival. To me it's a notch below in quality. But I like some of the venues on the Breeze such as the Piano Bar. All-in-all, I think you'll have a nice cruise. Have fun.
bury me at sea Posted September 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2018 The cove balconies feel a bit larger than the regular balconies. I don't know whether they actually are or not. I can't compare to other lines. The spa balconies on deck 11 are covered; those on deck 12 are not. Do you like full sun or partial shade? I can't answer the Coke/Pepsi question. Hope you have a wonderful time, whatever you choose.

The Breeze is our favorite ship also, food selection and availability is far superior to the RCCL ships in our opinion! We cruised Freedom of the Seas in July and certainly missed the free food venues. For us the Steakhouse on Carnival is far superior to Chops on RCCL amd we eat it at least twice on each cruise, well worth the extra $$ We LOVE the Spa Balconies and always book them if not in a suite. The amenities included are worth the extra $$ for us. Enjoy!!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Animal Farm Posted September 15, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2018 I absolutely love the Cove balcony, room #2337. We sat out on the balcony during a storm and never got wet. There was no noise from the dining room above. We will always book this room whenever possible.

Animal Farm Posted September 15, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Deck 2. These rooms usually have a lifeboat over the balcony (not claustrophobic at all) although THIS particiular room was in between 2 lifeboats. My sister & BIL were in room 2341 and we were able to open up the divider between the 2 balconies. The lifeboat over their balcony did not interfere with their "part of the balcony" either. The plus for us was that we could sit out at any time of the day and not have the hot sun on us.

A&Jfamily Posted September 15, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 15, 2018 You can bring on 12 cans pp of soda so hopefully that would solve your Pepsi issue. If you request the steward to keep a full ice bucket in your room, it will be done. I think you will find that you like somethings more and some less about each line. Carnival has a great martini bar - Alchemy and the comedy club and Lina bars which are tons of fun. Carnival lives up to their name and while they may not have the bells and whistles of RCI they have the friendliest crew at sea which makes for a very enjoyable vacation. We always stayed above deck 8 on all our cruises Sent from my SM-J727VPP using Forums mobile app It's true higher decks are in general more expensive, and I've enjoyed balconies on decks 7 and 9 of the Breeze and her sister, the Magic. I would never book a balcony on deck 6 on those ships because of the public nature of deck 5. The proximity of the water is what led me to try a cove, and it didn't disappoint. They are somewhat protected from direct sun, which also appeals to me. They aren't for everyone. We all have reasons for our preferences. If you're hesitant, book higher and visit a cove. Happy sailing.

I don't consider that the lunch options are restaurants, though the Italian establishment above the Lido is. Sea day brunch is served in the MDR. Love it. Quilcruisers Posted September 16, 2018 #25 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I have cruised the breeze twice and it is one of my favorites. I only stayed in deluxe ocean view and this last cruise snagged a 4j cabin at the very front of the ship. The best thing about this cabin was it was the cost of interior (we sailed at peak time so it was still pricey ), but I would book it again. We were on deck 6 and a quick turn off the hallway and thru the double doors, we were outside on our own semi private deck. Awesome views and if you walk one story down , deck 5 was right there and went all the way around the ship. We did not have to take the elevator until we wanted to go up to 9 or 10 because the promenade, casino, etc on the 5th deck. There were hot tubs on both sides of the ship on 5. I really hate the breeze is leaving Galveston because I would like to sail again but we will probably end up flying to cruise her again. I too love the sky course and the open airy feel of the common areas. Sent from my iPad using Forums
