Behavior on Carnival ships ?

One of the best cruises we ever had was back on Miracle when she was brand new and sailing out of Baltimore (yes Baltimore) but we have been hesitant to go back to Carnival following all the reports and videos of bad behavior on the ships.

I’d be grateful for an honest assessment from recent cruisers - does Carnival deserve its new reputation ?

I have cruised yearly since 1980 and yes there are "bad actors" on all cruise lines. However as most hide their issues with Carnival not being one of them. I have been on Carnival over 25 times and have only had one sailing where people were escorted off the ship. Also due to maritime laws you also get a $250 fee for leaving a ship in the middle of a cruise.

The videos don't show the ramification of such behaviors. Like being escorted off the ship at the next port and finding your own way home or being met by law enforcement. Carnival has very little tolerance for bad behavior.

There is a "code of conduct" in your ticket contract which few guest read. Click on the link below.

I have to say I am utterly baffled about the comments of bad behavior on Carnival cruises. Though the shortest ones I take have been a 5 day, and we did do 1 cruise to nowhere. The others have all been 7 days or longer. I haven't witnessed anything I haven't also seen on Disney, NCL, Royal, Princess, MSC. I don't see where the lines or even passengers are all that different.

You want bad behavior, suggest booking a cruise on an Australian line, or possibly that too was a fluke. Not offense to our Australian friends here online. Just referring to a cruise I read about recently where all the passengers got like $1300 back.

Anyway, I have not seen bad behavior on Carnival any worse than other lines that I have been on.

On the Sunshine in 2015, a guy beat another guy with a chair in the casino, a few others were injured too. My birthday last year on the Fantasy, a woman stabbed her boyfriend in the throat about 3am our first night.

good chance both of them deserved it ...lol...2 sides an all that .

we've been on 5 or 6 or 7 cruises now and never really encountered anything too bad, and the majority were shorter to mid carnival cruises. probably the only time i wanted to punch a guy was when he insisted him and his family get on the elevator before we got off...besides that I don't think we've really encountered anything real bad fortunately...

My first cruise was on the Conquest when she was sailing out of Galveston. It was Spring Break. There was quite a bit rudeness, and not all of it from young people. That is the only time that I have experienced "bad behavior" on a Carnival cruise. Glad that it did not put me off Carnival or cruising.
