Online check in complete but can't print luggage tags?

Yesterday I completed my online check for my December cruise on Symphony of the Seas. Yay! [emoji3] But it says luggage tags are not available to print yet. Is this normal? If so, when do luggage tags become available to print? TIA!

About 45 days out you will be able to print your tags.

Normally at 7 weeks before the cruise.

Did you book your airfare through the cruise line? That significantly delays the issuance of docs which include luggage tags.

I would Call RCI and have them email you copies if you are under 40 days until your cruise. They can do this. I had them do that last year when our tags finally arrived about 5 weeks before our cruise and both tags had my roommate's gold level on them rather than my platinum level. They emailed the corrected ones to me with no trouble.

We booked through cruise1st travel agent in UK. Still no show with 35 days to go, though I'm not worried. Yet :D

On several occasions we have not printed our luggage tags. At least at Baltimore, there is a station on the way in, in which passengers can have luggage tags made on the spot. Quick and easy.

The “sample” luggage tag that comes with the cruise documents is not the real luggage tag.

 

Those come at about 45 days before you sail. Where you do your online checkin there will be a tab that appears that says “print luggage tags”. These will look different from the sample ones.
