Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #101 Share Posted September 28, 2018 just saw this and have to agree 1000% first off Adrian was in my opinion the best! but i feel all the concierge have been excelent! going on getaway in nov and seeing you say how great Anoop is makes me excited! NCL Concierge’s are all great. Adrian was wonderful! I heard he was on the Bliss. I also heard Anoop is headed to the Pearl.
Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #102 Share Posted September 28, 2018 I did this once while on the Epic. Fun....once! Did not feel the need to do it, again! IMG_0671 by D J, on Flickr
Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #103 Share Posted September 28, 2018 Made mention that I believe NCL offers the best entertainment at sea. This cruise just reinforced that. During the day, if you want to relax, Spice H2O was a great place to relax, read a book, soak up some rays, without being hassled by youngsters (nothing against them, I've raised a couple of my own).... IMG_0726 by D J, on Flickr Played movies there at night... IMG_0695 by D J, on Flickr And, NCL loves to throw parties there, too.... Latitudes party... Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #104 Share Posted September 28, 2018 More Spice H2O parties.... Latin Night..... IMG_0846 by D J, on Flickr And, my favorite party at Spice H2O......Glow Party. Had fun, although I also had to do a bit of babysitting of one of our fellow Haven passengers..... Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #105 Share Posted September 28, 2018 Did not see Burn the Floor, as I've seen it twice before on other NCL ships. If you've never seen it, well worth your time. Even better, were the shows I did see.... First up was Cirque Steam. I used one of my SDP credits for this. I think that knocked the price of the dinner to $12 or so, roughly. While I had heard the food wasn't all that great, I thought it was fine. My steak was good, prepared medium. It was hot and flavorful. Sides were fine, too. Baked potato was hot, and fluffy. Salad was fresh. I was good with all of it. But, the show is what you really come for. Think a Variety Show with acrobats, knife and arrow specialists, dancers, mixed with a bit of magic and theater, multiply it by 10, and you'd be close. The fact they did all of that on a moving ship is even more amazing. I did not photograph while the show was going on because a) they asked us not to, and b) because any flash would have distracted the performers from what amounted to some dangerous stunts and acrobatics, making it dangerous. I did take pics at the introductions of the performers parading around the audience, though... This is how close to the stage I was (courtesy again of our Concierge).... Rare graphicguy Posted September 28, 2018 Author #106 Share Posted September 28, 2018 My favorite...the show that receive a standing ovation, Million Dollar Quartet. If you've heard about the Broadway Version, this is every bit as good......just a huge amount of fun, with performances of some extremely talented singers, players, actors.... IMG_0930 by D J, on Flickr IMG_0935 by D J, on Flickr IMG_0934 by D J, on Flickr IMG_0936 by D J, on Flickr For those of you who've never heard of this performance, it's about the start of the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Car Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis..... These seats again, courtesy of the Haven!

Seminole1975 Posted September 28, 2018 #108 Share Posted September 28, 2018 Hello! Do you or anyone else following happen to know how much longer Million Dollar Quartet will be on the Getaway? Thanks! NCL originally got a three year contract for MDQ. It started on another ship (the Escape?) and then moved to the Getaway. They are into their third year now. The current cast finishes around the beginning of December. I have not heard that the contract for the show has been renewed, but that does not mean it hasn't. I will see what I can find out. The show is popular and was voted the #1 show in the NCL fleet. Nice pictures BTW even tho the show is copywrited! ashleyriley Posted September 28, 2018 #109 Share Posted September 28, 2018 Thanks Seminole1975! I thought the contract for the show was up soon, I appreciate the confirmation from a very reliable source. [emoji6]

irisbax3 Posted September 29, 2018 #112 Share Posted September 29, 2018 I apologize if this question has already been answered. Does anyone know the fee for a clamshell in Harvest Caye? When and where do you make a reservation for the H.C. clamshell? I have looked on my cruise's list of excursions but it's not there. Thanks in advance for any information on this. I’m sure you’re rightfully proud. These were taken during the last Ovation. No one said pics were forbidden. So, I didn’t snap during the show, only during the encore. No flash, which I’m surprised turned out as well as they did. Edited September 29, 2018 by graphicguy

Any hoo....so glad you enjoyed the show! I am proud of Kurt! He understudies for the Burn the Floor singer as well. He had to go on in that show a few weeks ago. Wish I could have seen it. I saw bits of it thru Instagram. Getting more excited by the day! We leave in a couple of weeks! My main reason for going is to see our son. When he is in the states, I can go visit him, but on a cruise ship, you have to take the cruise! Tough isn't it?! haha! Enjoying your review!! Thanks for doing it. jlmd56 Posted September 29, 2018 #119 Share Posted September 29, 2018 "Izzy" is Ezechiel (correct spelling by him), from Argentina. We were on the Getaway one week earlier. My first time in the Haven and what a pampering it was. After dinner one night I told Miroslav I needed a digestive and he a phenomenal drink with some liqueurs I can't remember. We were there during the US Open Tennis match and he played in his youth and followed the pro circuit. He was very knowledgeable. We we one floor up in 16124. Took all of 14 seconds to get to the Haven bar and 20 to get to the restaurant. We almost never left. All your pictures are bringing back fond memories. jlmd56 Posted September 29, 2018 #120 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Want to make mention for a moment about the service in the Haven, and in my opinion, what sets the Haven experience apart from the suite experiences of any other cruise line. For example, I never pre-planned anything. Like magic, if I felt like going to a show, like Cirque, which sells out, all I had to do was contact my concierge and, like magic, I had front row seats for the evening's show....complete with an escort around the lines waiting to get in. One night, I was sitting at the bar and decided I was hungry for a steak. Mentioned it to the concierge, and BOOM, a quick call was made. All I had to do was walk to Cagney's and ask for the manager and I was immediately seated. Again, I planned NOTHING in advance. In addition, any billing problems I had (will comment more on this in a moment), I voiced them to my concierge, I would walk away, and it was taken care of. I keeping with the string of EXCELLENT concierges I've had on NCL, this is Anoop.... IMG_0759 by D J, on Flickr He's one of a string of concierges I've had the distinct pleasure of knowing on NCL. Since he made most of the reservations (his assistant, I think Jefferson was his name), he knew where we were most of the time and checked up on me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. This included the restaurants where I ate. If there was the hint of the problem, he remedied it immediately. I can't stress enough how good NCL's concierges are. I see people say they barely talk to them. You're missing out on one of the major advantages of sailing in the Haven. Anoop continues the outstanding service I've experienced from Adrian, to Virginia, to Elvina. Can't compliment them enough. We had the same wonderful experience with Anoop. One night we wanted to change our Cagney's time and he called the restaurant, and voila, it was done.

jlmd56 Posted September 29, 2018 #122 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Ropes course.....I had every intention of doing this. I have done it on other NCL cruises and loved it. This go round, it seems I was always doing something else and didn't get around to it. That could probably be the theme of this cruise. There was just so much that caught my interest, I needed more time to do all the things I wanted to do. IMG_0722 by D J, on Flickr The NCL trademark chandelier.....and yes, it changes colors all the time.... IMG_0853 by D J, on Flickr Cool scale model of the Getaway.... IMG_0861 by D J, on Flickr IMG_0721 by D J, on Flickr The problem with the mega ships like the Getaway is there are so many things to do. It might take a dozen cruises to see every show, feature, etc. We made time to do the ropes coarse but missed a lot of other things. Well, guess we'll just have to go on another cruise. jlmd56 Posted September 29, 2018 #123 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Thanks for the review. I'll be in the Haven in two weeks and will definitely keep an eye out for Miraslov and Anoop. jlmd56 Posted September 29, 2018 #125 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Mentioned before, I usually forget to take pictures of my meals. It's not something I do very often. On the very rare occasions I remember, it seems I'm already half way through my meals. That said, I did take some pics. I had 5 total specialty dining dinners. The rest I ate in the Haven Restaurant..... IMG_0921 by D J, on Flickr I'd say the majority of the time, this is where I was seated for breakfast, lunch and dinners in the Haven. Not 100%, but at least 80%. The Maitre'd knew I liked the spot and seated me there whenever she could.... IMG_0943 by D J, on Flickr That was our favorite spot for breakfast. Had to be early.
