Thanks for any info You should be fine. I've transferred through Frankfurt many times. Just don't buy any duty free liquor in Amsterdam and expect to get it through to Miami. If you change planes in Europe, your liquids will be confiscated and this can hold you up in security.
caribill Posted September 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2018 You should be fine. But be aware that you will need to go through the line to have your passport scanned for leaving the EU.

Thanks for any info You should be a ok with on time flights. But I would head straight to the gate. Frankfurt is a very spread out airport, you have to go through passport control, standard security and the heightened gate screening for US flights (which can be a zoo) Also I would have your ship key card handy. When we transited through Munich this spring (after a FFL-Rome TA) we were questioned by German passport control why we didn’t have an EU entry stamp. We explained we arrived via ship and he asked for proof. Thankfully we had our ship card and it was fine. This had never happened before but it saved time by having our ship cards. Safe travels! sail7seas Posted September 27, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2018 If it is possible for you to connect through Stutgart it mght be easier? Seeing it is a much smaller airport.

That is interesting, I don't think we've even gotten off a cruise in the EU and did not have to go through immigration and get an entry stamp. We have never had an issue that you mention. but, I aways keep my flight details for my embarkation and certainly the on board account which you get easily proves you were on a ship ;). iancal Posted September 27, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 27, 2018 No problem. We have changed planes in Munich and in Frankfurt several times with only a one hour time frame. The last time we had a tight connection in Frankfurt (plane was late arriving) we were met at the gate after deplaning by a Lufthansa agent. He escorted us down a set of stars to a waiting SUV. We were driven to another part of the terminal, whisked up the stairs and voila we were at the gate for our Rome flight which was leaving shortly. The downside....this was prior to our switch to carry on. Out luggage did not make it. We had to cool our heals in FCO for 2 1/2 hours until the next Rome plane came in. At least we knew. When we went to report the missing luggage the agent was aware of it and told us that the bags were in flight to Rome at that moment. We are huge fans of Lufthansa-one of our favourite international airlines.
