Adding drinks package - payment

I wanted to add a drinks package to my cruise, when I do it online they want immediate payment by credit card, I was thinking they would just add it to the total for payment later.

 

If I call them will they also expect instant payment? I was only going to do it early to avoid any price increase but paying in full over a year in advance is a bit much to ask.

Yep, they will ask for full payment. Kinda sucks, but no other option if you want to prevent the inevitable increase. It is refundable, but I’m sure that will be pain as well.

If you booked through a travel agent then it can be added on to the final payment by the agent calling to add it.

Thanks guys, I booked direct, bit of a pain really as I'm booking deluxe packages, we are talking quite a big payment 15 months pre cruise.

At least I will be locking in the price,

Prices won't go up before April next year as that's when the new brochures come out (and when MSC make most changes) so you can certainly put off booking the packages 'til at least next February-March.

Thanks for that, you read my mind, I was going to ask when prices normally go up and also, do they normally give a "heads up" for price increases?

No heads-up; you have to watch for the 2019/20 online brochure, where the prices for the new season will be indicated. Pete (Skier52) may know when the brochure actually comes online - he seems to keep an eye out for them.
