Which side of the ship for a cabin in the sun when doing a Caribbean south is still Lucia, Barbados ect please

If you are doing a round trip, then it won't matter as it will even out.

It will all depend which way the ship is facing.   I can tell you, evening sun can heat up your cabin uncomfortably, requiring the drapes to stay closed...sort of defeats the purpose if you can't see out!

Generally, you will get pretty much direct sun only in the mornings or late afternoons.  Midday, the sun is overhead, so the best place to get sun is on the pool deck, as all balconies are covered by the deck above.
