GGrace Posted October 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Who has crossed the equator on a cruise? Did the ship's crew do anything special for first-time line-crossers? Any ideas for ways we can celebrate this? (Norwegian Sun 12/22/18)
Cruising Golfer Posted October 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2018 Back in the day, men would get their ear pierced. Never heard of a cruise line doing anything special.
BklynBoy8 Posted October 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2018 On the Cunard Ships they have a day of Crew Participation what is called the Neptune Club. Some passengers are invited to join in. We even got a Certification about the Crossing. It was quite hot that day I remember.
Rare ski ww Posted November 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2018 On HAL ships those crew members that have never crossed the line participate in the ceremony, watched by passengers as Neptune's court sits in judgement. All passengers receive a certificate. On one of our cruises they asked if any passengers wanted to participate & I did.
