CC is *NOT* the place to get visa info.

 

Lots of disappointment and expense possible if the info is merely outdated, much less if it applied to someone

whose situation is not quite the same as yours.  Customs and immigration folks are paid to be picky.

Totally agree with Haboob!  Talk to your TA and then go to your local “Service Canada” office or look at the government of Canada web site and verify “Everything” the TA has told you.  Do not trust hearsay information for an issue this critical.

If you are going to two ports in China that do not include Hong Kong you will need a visa.   You will have to get it through the Chinese Embassy yourself.

 

You will not need a visa for Japan BUT if you are carrying a CPAP machine or more than 1 month's supply of prescription medication you will need a Yakkan Shumei.

 

A word of warning do NOT carry anymedication into Japan that contains codeine.
