Fluffy Terry Posted November 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2018 we are looking at a princess cruise next year 15 day china, taiwan & vietnam. But the visa thing is confusing. As we are flying into Japan I dont think we need a visa, but there are two stops in china, do we have to apply for a visa or does princess
cnd crsr Posted November 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2018 Best thing would be to check with Princess or your TA. When we had stops in China (about 6 years ago) we had to get our own. I don't know if things have changed.
Haboob Posted November 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) CC is *NOT* the place to get visa info. Lots of disappointment and expense possible if the info is merely outdated, much less if it applied to someone whose situation is not quite the same as yours. Customs and immigration folks are paid to be picky. Edited November 4, 2018 by Haboob
LethbridgeAB Posted November 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2018 Totally agree with Haboob! Talk to your TA and then go to your local “Service Canada” office or look at the government of Canada web site and verify “Everything” the TA has told you. Do not trust hearsay information for an issue this critical. Bon voyage
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2018 If you need a visa for China, Princess will not handle it for you. It depends on your itinerary. EM
casofilia Posted November 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2018 If you are going to two ports in China that do not include Hong Kong you will need a visa. You will have to get it through the Chinese Embassy yourself. You will not need a visa for Japan BUT if you are carrying a CPAP machine or more than 1 month's supply of prescription medication you will need a Yakkan Shumei. A word of warning do NOT carry anymedication into Japan that contains codeine.
