newty25 Posted November 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2018 I love watching football on Sunday. Was hoping to catch some games on my phone or using my phone as a hotspot until we leave port to watch on my laptop. How good is the cell coverage for your phone on the ship while still in the port of Miami until you set sail? I have the Sunday Ticket app and can fire it up anywhere... so it's just a matter of getting cellphone service.
deliver42 Posted November 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2018 You should be fine in Miami. The service doesn't know you are on a ship.

Suggest you watch on your balcony or you will have a lot of buffering...
roger001 Posted November 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2018 We usually have good Verizon cell coverage until maybe 5 miles or so out to sea.
EMBFlyer Posted November 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2018 Coverage is pretty good at the Port of Miami. However, one thing to remember, when you're in the interior of the ship, you're encased in steel. Reception might be dicey unless you're closer to the outside of the ship. dcipjr Posted November 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2018 As long as you're in a cabin with a balcony, you'll be fine. If you're in an inside cabin, you'll probably have to venture out on deck—try the Waterfront or Promenade deck.

The only problem is that the towers get busy as more and more people board the ship so you may have spotty coverage, especially inside the ship.
