lizzy911 Posted November 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2018 We will be docking at Port Canaveral on an Anthem of the Seas cruise out of New Jersey in March. We would rather spend the day at the beach / walking around Cocoa Beach than the other excursions. We have a 3 and a 6 year old. The 6 year old can ride in a backless booster but the 3 year old is in a 5 point. What are the best options? Should we just take the vaguely pricey Royal Caribbean shuttle (approximately $50-60)? The price isn't our primary concern, more the lack of flexibility. We are driving to port but I would rather not store a car seat in a balcony room that already has 4 people in it. I have heard people recommend renting a car but I imagine it would be similar with the carseat situation to get TO the car rental centers? We are not bringing a stroller. Thanks. Rare Essiesmom Posted November 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Ask this on the Florida Departures board, under North American Homeports. Some folks there may be able to give you ideas about getting to the beach without a taxi or rental. EM
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted November 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2018 if price is no concern, a Ride Safer vest may be a possibility.
Rare pyropoodle Posted November 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2018 I second the Ride safer vest. we have one for our now 4 year old. it's not terribly bulky and it's relatively fast to snap him in. we use it around the city as well when we take cabs.
