Gatun webcam not as good as Miraflores

I took two pictures in the second lock. One before the water was released and one after to show how much we drop. 

 

Also a picture of a man heading home after a good day's work.

I missed the beginning of the ceremony they held in the Centrum but it appears similar to the shellback ceremony when crossing the equator. Instead of King Neptune it was a king of Panama. Officers had to atone for various infractions with severe punishment. I like how they ganged up on CD Steve at the end.

The engineering geek in me has so many questions.  Do the lock gates need to be watertight or is a little bit of leakage OK?  is the ships propulsion used to move the ships forward in the lock or is that done purely with the mules?

We could see some leakage but not a lot. The ship propels itself and the mules just keep them in the center and most of the time off the walls
