You can apply your deposit to the taxes and port fees as well as prepaid tips and/or travel insurance.  And the free cruise is for an interior cabin so you if you want OV, balcony or suite you apply the difference towards price for cabin upgrade.  Anything left they will refund to your credit card.

Does anyone know how much of a discount Prime gives you off Internet packages and how to order it? On Adventure in March- a free cruise based on points!

I believe it's the same as D+ - 30%.  I could be wrong.  I've never used that perk.  I believe it works the same way that D+ does....you have to wait until you are on board to purchase it and they apply the discount then.

This thread has provided some really useful information, thanks all!

I have a question, my partner is Prime, and has been for the past few years.  We know he has qualified for Prime for next year (ie April 20-March21), and we want to use the free Prime cruise for a Caribbean cruise on  9 May.  Is there any way to lock it in before April?  We are coming from Australia and have planned the rest of our US holiday around getting on that specific cruise.  Waiting until April (or mid April as someone pointed out above) has me nervous, ie if the boat is sold out or there’s a problem with Prime membership.  The cruise is on Symphony.  Worst case if we have to wait until April, does anyone have any experience around availability? Thanks in advance!

You won’t be able reserve ahead if you’re going to use prime because you’ll be under the 90 day refund window. You apply your prime cert you need to be able to reprice the cruise. You’re right though, it’s not impossible to use the cert in May, but your options are limited to what rooms are still available... if any. Plus all the good dining and show times will already be selected.

Are you talking about May 2020 or May 2021 ?

I would give them a call and ask if you have any offers.  It seems like I'm getting an offer every week lately.  You can also check at this site:

https://www.clubroyaleoffers.com/

We do have one certificate for an interior room (from the same cruise where he requalified for Prime), but none of the cruises on the list worked out (long way to come from Australia for the USA cruises and they don’t put many Australian sailings on there).  Just to check, there’s no way to negotiate use of that certificate on a cruise not on the list is there (Im aware of the $500 discount option).  I have rung them and been told  I have to wait until April 1 to book the Prime cryise.  It does seem like people on here know a lot more than the person we spoke to on the phone!

Thank you, that makes sense about not being able to reserve ahead.  Looks like it will be luck of the draw then.  Does anyone have any experience with cruises being fully booked out?  I would think on the big ships cruising weekly from Miami they wouldn’t fully sell out?  And I’m assuming It isn’t like airline frequent flyers where there’s only a limited amount of reward seats?  Ie as long as there’s a room available we will get it?

For double occupancy, it’s usually not that hard to find. Rooms can be sold one one minute then appear shortly after as people upgrade or cancel for whatever reason. We’ve run into problem with getting rooms for 3rd and 4th guest. Even if the room is available and can accommodate extra guests, they have a limit which prevents them from adding a 3rd or 4th guest.

Why would that matter though? You can only redeem a certificate from April if the same year.

Yes, I agree.  He/she can still make the reservation now but cannot redeem the “free” cruise until after April 1.  The cruise fare will be repriced, but at least the cruise that they want will be reserved.

In the past I have used my free Prime cruise for a cruise I already had booked.  I had called club royale prior to original booking of the cruise and they told me I needed to book it with a refundable deposit.  That way when I received the prime certificate and transferred the booking to club royale they repriced it and refunded me the balance of my deposit.

This is what I do as well.  I guess the question is....can the poster from Australia also do this?  I am not familiar with the booking/repricing rules for Australia.

Thanks.  Is it an issue that final payment will be due in February 2020, 2 months prior to receiving the Prime certificate and being able to initiate repricing?

Are you eligible for a complimentary Prime cruise for this year (April 1, 2019 - 31 March, 2020) ?  If you are (and have not yet used your "free" cruise) then you will be ok.  If you will not be eligible for a "free" cruise until after 1 April, 2020 then it will probably be a problem.

We have already used the free Prime cruise for this year.

Hmmmm....I don't think the timing is going to work for you then.  If I were you I would call CR and just ask if they can either issue the certificate to you early (doubtful) or allow you to reprice after 1 April (slightly more likely).

So after a few calls we found someone who reviewed our gaming history and offered a free inside cabin on the cruise we wanted.  I said we were weighing up our options on various cruise lines but can’t wait until April to book with RCL, after some time on hold we got the cruise.  Thanks everyone for your valuable insight,

Welcome to Prime.

Remember that you also get free drinks in the casino. You may have to get the host/hostess to put a prime sticker on you card.

Hi .

I was on the symphony in June 2019. the casino Host put a Prime sticker on my Sail card even though i only had 2449 points. When i called CasinoRoyale was told i wasnt prime. I am going on Royale Feb 7th 2020. So if I go in and acquire 51 points will I become prime at that time for the Drinks. Also will I be Prime after April 1 2020
