So if I go in and acquire 51 points will I become prime at that time for the Drinks. Also will I be Prime after April 1 2020

Yes.  If you make Prime prior to April 1, 2020, you will be Prime until March 31, 2021.

Correct!  Once you get to 49, go see the Casino Host who will put the sticker on your card.

It is correct that you will be Prime once you pass 2500 points, but I would not expect anyone on board to be able to verify your current points.  If you are anticipating free drinks and waiver of the 5% convenience fee on your 2-7 cruise, I would make sure that I had documented proof of your current points status.  The Casino hosts are notoriously ignorant of anyone's points status except for what they have earned on that particular cruise.  If it's that important to you to have status on this coming cruise, I would not leave it to chance that anyone on the ship will be able to verify that you have 2449 points.

Your next question will be....how do you get verifiable proof of your current points standing.  Unfortunately, I do not have an answer for that.  I get it that someone on the phone told you you have 2449 points, but that really isn't proof.  I would probably call Club Royale and tell them that you need documented proof of your current points standing.  If they tell you that the onboard Host will be able to verify that information, I would be very very skeptical.  More than once or twice or 3 times I have asked the onboard Host to tell me how many points I have (overall) and they have never been able to do that.  Not once.

Is it possible we're prime and aren't even aware of it then? We were doing this on our last cruise.

If you are....when you get on your next cruise your seapass will say Prime.  You can also call Casino Royale and confirm manually prior to cruising if really important.  😉

You can also get a feel for what level you might have reached same sailing based on a free cruise offer you may receive at the end of the sailing.

$500 off interior

Free interior

Free Balcony

With a list of cruises.

I made Prime on my first cruise with RC ever back in August 2018.....I got a cert for a free balcony room cruise at the end of the cruise as I recall.  On later cruises I've only ever received a free interior cert which kinda bummed me out 😉

I was able to have casino royale send me an e-mail that showed my points to date Thank You. Also I was told last week that with Prime i was able to get 2 drinks. I was on the Allure and they made me prime before 2500 points and they gave me 2 drinks per order. The person I talked to today at Casino Royale told me only 1 drink from what he could see. From your experience what can you tell me

An email from Club Royale would be good enough evidence, I’m sure to “prove” your points level.

I’m not sure what you’re asking regarding 1 drink or 2 drinks.  When you are Prime, you get unlimited drinks in the casino but they will only give you 1 drink at the time with the possible exception of a bottle of water along with your drink if you asked for that.

When I reached 2500 points the first year of this new program, I asked the casino host if I now got free drinks the remainder of that sailing.  He said no, not until my next cruise. 😕

That doesn’t sound right.  I started my last cruise and wasn’t prime.  I asked the hair how close I was and in typical fashion didn’t know. 2 nights later I was talking with the Casino manager and asked him.  He took my member number and went to check.  Came back 10 min later with a sticker for my card and apologized said I should be prime now.

I would say if the host isn’t giving you good info go up one more level.  This seems to be the best way to handle a lot of issues with RC not just the Casino.

Good details, thanks....yeah, we found ourselves practically living in the casino last cruise, won some money, great fun!

My DW & DS made Prime on our second cruise last year and the Casino Host, each and every time we asked, gave us the updated points total. Not what we have that cruise, (it's on the machines) but the total between the two cruises. On our third cruise I made Prime, was able to get my sticker, and unlimited drinks. Those were on the Mariner and the Harmony. Not sure who the hosts are on the other ships, but those two ships Hosts did not have a problem what-so-ever adding up the points between all our cruises that year and giving us our updated total.....

How do the free drinks work in the Casino for Prime Members?  Do you have to be at a machine or table playing, and wait til someone comes and offers you a drink, or can you just go up to the bar and order anything?

All those options work.  The prime designation printed on your card (or sticker) is all you need.  You show it to any of the servers/bartenders in the casino to get a drink.

Thanks, and do they expect you to stay and gamble while having the drink? Whilst on my next cruise I expect I will spend most of my time in the Casino, there may be times I will pass through on the way to a show or something and might pop in to get a drink to go.

The casino bartenders are supposed to give you only 1 free drink per person.   If you are traveling with someone who is also prime and they get to know both of you they will give you 2 drinks per visit to the bar.     A lot of times I had no problem getting 2 drinks after they got to know me.

I recent did a side by sailing and was on the Allure and within 1 day has the couple hundred points I needed to reach prime.     The host stickered me and off I went.   I continued to play in the casino throughout that cruise and had earned another 1200 points.

I got off that Ship and got on the Serenade and was told to see the Casino Host he would sticker me.   I did just that and this Casino host said I was missing about 500 points.     He went back to his computer and read off point totals from recent cruises and that included the Allure but he was missing a sailing from the Anthem.     He told me that sailing did not count since it departed on March 31, 2019.     This was a 7 night sailing that started on 3/31.

I went back to my cabin called the casino royale 800 number and the rep spoke with her supervisor and confirmed that the points I had earned on April 1, 2019 thru January, 2020 was more than what I needed for prime and they were going to email the host onboard the Serenade.     The next day i saw the host and he apologized and gave me my prime sticker.

So long story short - yes, the casino hosts can see your points for various cruises.    I always stop by and check my totals.     Now with both my DH and I both being prime members we plan on using our 2 annual freebies for a B2B in Europe later this year.    Excited to plan that trip.

Lately, I’ve gotten more offers for complimentary cruises by snail mail than I have through email offers.  When I called CR to book my latest one I asked why I suddenly started getting these offers and said they are “monthly” offers.  No further elaboration. These offers have been very affordable to upgrade.  Between my husband and me we’ve gotten at least 6 such offers in the last 3 months.  Hey come sealed in a plastic mailing sleeve. We’ve taken advantage of a few of them.

Yes, we love those plastic sleeves with the freebies in them.   We have booked at least 4 of them for this year.   We did one of them in January for 7 nights on the allure, have 8 nights on grandeur for SE coast/bahamas, have 7 night on empress to NE/Canada and have 5 night to Bermuda on Adventure so far.    Cannot wait to see what the next mailer will be!!

Don't forget to check https://www.clubroyaleoffers.com/

every now and then we find an offer on there that we didn't know about.

Have fun cruisin and keep winning!
