ashley2196 Posted December 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2018 I’m not writing a review just giving you a heads up. Disembarkation was a hot mess. For starters, unless you are platinum or diamond you will not get luggage tags delivered to your room. They need to be picked up by guest services or the red frog pub on deck 5. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this and by the time we went to grab luggage tags the only numbers left were 26-29. Thankfully I was traveling with someone who was platinum and they had extra luggage tags. On the actual day of disembarkation it was chaotic. People were waiting by the elevators with all their luggage. Deck 3 was jam packed with people trying to get off, when people came off the elevators there was no where for them to go but ahead of you. There was no organization what so ever. When you finally make it off I would recommend grabbing a porter. They have their own line to go through customs and it is much shorter than the regular line. I do have the funtimes and pictures of the menus. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask.

Baysgt27 Posted December 3, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 3, 2018 You are right on the mark about this. It was like an accident on a 4 lane highway and everyone trying to get in the one lane that’s open with cars still coming on in the entrance ramp. I had zone 6 and did not get out of the terminal until 11:00 AM. Once inside the terminal at the escalator they were making people wait 10 steps between people. People were standing at bottom of escalator waiting for people in their party to get off escalator. Won’t even get into custom lines.
Rare pyropoodle Posted December 3, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) is this tag pick up a new thing? are they going to stop delivering to staterooms? or do you think this was just something on your sailing? sounds like chaos to me. Jerseygirl1416 Posted December 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 3, 2018 Not anything like what I experienced in October. We had FTTF and did self assist debarkation. From the time we stood up in the theater where we were told to wait it was less than 10 minutes to the curb. I guess FTTF and packing light have their advantages. Sorry you had to deal with a cluster.....
Rare dsain Posted December 3, 2018 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2018 This was my EXACT experience in Port Canaveral in February (on the Magic). Worst debarkation we’ve ever experienced. Hoping loyalty program doesn’t change before our next cruise as I’ll be turning platinum and looking forward to priority debarkation.
lele100 Posted December 3, 2018 #13 Share Posted December 3, 2018 I was on the breeze the week before you, we got off on the 24th. It was a mess, so disorganized. Did you guys actually end up with Donkey as cruise director? We were supposed to have him, but he did not show up something about his Visa was not approved yet. So we ended up with Kendall Fire, she was a cruise director in training.
ashley2196 Posted December 3, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted December 3, 2018 We also had Kendall Fire. I thought she did a great job.

It’s new to me, I’m used to them being delivered to the room. They put this piece of paper in our stateroom the night before debarkation.
Rare pyropoodle Posted December 3, 2018 #16 Share Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) wow, thanks for posting that. I guess that's something we would need to pay attention and bolo for. I know there are cutbacks everywhere and I guess it does take extra time to dole out specific zone tags to staterooms/ keep up with which room gets which zone. it makes a kind of a sense (except for platinum/diamonds). we always prefer to leave late because I want one last breakfast in the dining room before debarking. lennythenose Posted December 3, 2018 #17 Share Posted December 3, 2018 I had read about this process before our Magic cruise in June so was not surprised by it. Then it was in the Fun Times and all debarkation info (printed and CD presentation). We had FTTF so ours were still delivered but I did see the board set up during the debarkation talk with no line. If you don’t go to the presentation I recommend going by during it. Right after the lines got very long. I woujd say say not exactly new but certainly less than a year. Rare jimbo5544 Posted December 3, 2018 #18 Share Posted December 3, 2018 It has been about a year and the CD's debark talk (and the fun times) have it mentioned.
bcberri Posted December 3, 2018 #19 Share Posted December 3, 2018 We were on this sailing with you and we never even got that Debarkation info sheet. Two words: train wreck.
coldinkansas Posted December 3, 2018 #20 Share Posted December 3, 2018 We were on the Breeze first of September and it was the easiest disembarkation I think we ever had. Got zone 6 tickets and we were off the ship and in our car pulling out of parking by 9:15 am. They called our zone around 8:30 and off we went. Sorry to hear it is not like that way any longer. indie Posted December 4, 2018 #21 Share Posted December 4, 2018 I was also on this sailing, and yes my worst debarkation experience ever. I think the debarkation self-assist and tag checked luggage process was extremely convoluted. They also kept blaming all of the people needing wheelchair assistance. Never had that impact debarkation before. This was my first time back on Carnival since 2007 after several cruises on Royal and I thought this debarkation process of going to get your tags would be a problem. We forgot to do it until late and ended up with 21. From what I heard, there were only two working customs officers working the terminal at first. Overall, I enjoyed my cruise. The only thing I didn't like was the debarkation, the location of the smoky casino dumping smoke across all inside areas on deck 5, and setup of the buffet serving area. I didnt feel the ship was as well laid out as Freedom and Oasis Class ships from royal, and the entertainment wasn't nearly on the same level. I enjoyed the food and choices, I enjoyed the cove balcony cabin, i enjoyed the ports and the fun crew/cruise director, comedy shows and poolside movies. I will come back to Carnival again but probably wouldn't do a ship smaller than the Breeze. It would be hard to choose to go on the breeze vs an Oasis class ship from Royal though for comparable pricing out of my favorite port, Port Canaveral. I am looking forward to seeing what the new upcoming larger ships have to offer from Carnival. I didn't know Kyndall Fire was new, and she did a great job and was probably my 2nd favorite cruise director.

ober134 Posted December 30, 2018 #23 Share Posted December 30, 2018 I'm pretty sure the tag pick up procedure was in place when we sailed Vista in the Spring. After many cruises we pack LIGHT!! and do self assist. So much easier.
RoperDK Posted December 31, 2018 #24 Share Posted December 31, 2018 Thank you for posting menus and funtimes. We are on this itinerary in a few weeks. I have a few questions.... 1. How was the buffet quality and selection? Did the dinner buffet have some of the MDR options? On our last couple of cruises we have been disappointed with the buffet. 2. Do suite passengers have priority disembarkation? Will they get luggage tags in their stateroom or have to pick them up? Thanks in advance, Dawn
