ugagal07 Posted December 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Sailing on the Miracle Sunday if anyone has something you'd like checked out. 🙂 She's and older ship that seems to not get a lot of love on the boards.
PrincessMinion Posted December 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Enjoy! She’s one of my favorite ships. Loved the layout and ease of getting around.
Florings Posted December 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Just enjoyed a cruise on her in September. The one thing I would say I missed is the Dive In Movies. That is generally one of my favorite evening activities. But everything else was wonderful, had a great time!
tandemcruzr Posted December 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) Be sure to check out the Serenity area, Lido deck aft. It's our favorite Serenity area. Edited December 11, 2018 by tandemcruzr
douglanglois Posted December 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Going on the Miracle in February, and I'd love to see some examples of the entertainment schedule. If you can take some pictures of the daily newsletter, that would be awesome!
n6uqqq Posted December 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2018 The Miracle is an older gal but I still prefer it over a ship that holds twice as many people. And Carnival did short change her on the 2.0 upgrades, but still a good ship.
Bostwick girl Posted December 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2018 We've been on her twice this year. One of the best laid out ships, so easy to get around! Many really neat setting areas on Deck 2 which is the promenade deck on this ship. Be sure to check out Gatsbys Garden on deck 3 forward, it's where the chapel and all are. It's a quiet, beautiful area. There isn't much we didn't like. Definitely enjoy not having so many people on board. Wish she were staying in Florida instead of going back to west coast! Be sure to take advantage of the valet parking in Tampa, it's definitely worth the few dollars extra!. Enjoy your cruise.
Sailing Smooth Posted December 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Could you check on which movies are showing end of December-January? Could you tell us theme nights such as which day has chocolate buffet/semi formal, etc. for planning steakhouse night? Could you verify that Alchemy serves snacks (olives, cheese, nuts) at 5 daily? I can report what movies are shown Dec 16-23, I can't imagine they'd change before the end of the month. I'll report back.
SkyMaster Posted December 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted December 12, 2018 "Miracle" is bigger than the Fantasy Class vessels, but holds the same number of passengers. ie; MORE ROOM FOR YOU AND ME! Miracle is indeed, a fun cruise, as long as you're not into Karaoke. (Not much karaoke.) "SKY"

The elegant nights on our 7 day on the Miracle were the first seaday and the last port day. They did the chocolate extravaganza on the lido at lunch time on the last seaday. I did see a few people had those little snack plates at Alchemy when we were there before dinner, but this was back in May, I don't know about recently. evandbob Posted December 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted December 12, 2018 A different opinion: We sailed from Tampa on the Miracle mainly for a casino premier cruise this summer. First time driving to the Tampa port as well as first time sailing from there. I liked the Valet garage parking service at the port, and the Diamond waiting area, while not discrete, was adequate. The ship itself was old and showed its rust and hideous Farkus design, esp. in the theater and MDR. The Steakhouse was open air to the atrium, and an echoing loud sing along and name that tune game being played decks below made conversation impossible during our "elegant" dinner. I put elegant in quotes, since I was the only male with long pants and a collared golf shirt amongst the guests that night. The other males all had shorts, some had flip flops and wife beaters. We had an upsell to a mini suite, and the larger bath and dressing area was nice to have, but the mattress wasn't that comfortable and the balcony had lots of rust. I usually booked Conquest class ships until the last few years when I started gravitating to the larger Dream and Vista classes, as well as to other cruise line experiences. I felt the Miracle was a regression in style and sailing comfort. Just confirms my desire not to sail Carnival's older ships. If I hadn't been enticed with the casino fare, I would not have chosen the Miracle. Now I know I won't sail that class ship again. JMO, YMMV. mikerg Posted December 12, 2018 #16 Share Posted December 12, 2018 We're heading out on her on 1/6/19. I'm travelling with my partner, who has beginning stages of Parkinsons. Booked a balcony on Verandah deck so he can relax when not feeling up to transiting through the ship. The garden area mentioned by someone on this thread sounds like something he'll like, too. Question-looking for an excursion in Cozumel that can easily accommodate him. Is the submarine a safe bet? Thanks.
deedle7544 Posted December 12, 2018 #17 Share Posted December 12, 2018 We just got off the ship on 11/25, it was great. Some signs of aging, but nothing major at all. Kinda like at home, LOL. Never felt crowded, staff was all very friendly and engaging. I would go on Miracle again in a heartbeat.

Bowman1 Posted December 12, 2018 #19 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Yes - we have a concept 2 in our garage and the whole family uses it. My DH and I rowed in college and our son rows recreationally now. Just a preference for the chain/ fan design of a concept 2 versus say the water resist ergs you see at an Orange Theory Fitness. It is also a part of the cruise we look forward to in the early morning.
Florings Posted December 12, 2018 #20 Share Posted December 12, 2018 When we went in September: There is no Guy's Burgers or Blue Iguana Alchemy did indeed have snacks There are no Dive In Movies - no big screen The Serenity area has a pool for adults only which is nice. Beautiful ship, I did not find it rusty or "old". It is very well maintained and a great crew. I agree with the valet parking comments - worth every dime of the upcharge. Enjoy your cruise! Djptcp Posted December 13, 2018 #22 Share Posted December 13, 2018 DH and I sailed on the Miracle a few months ago and it certainly was not old and rusty at all. The ship is easy to maneuver and has lovely public areas. Will be sailing on her again in April. Great friendly crew, too. Can't wait to sail on her again. Nevada Jen Posted December 14, 2018 #23 Share Posted December 14, 2018 We were on her in September also. I really liked the ship. They did show movies in the theater during the day. It was actually super fun because there were like 10 people in the whole place. I am a smoker and I found the smoking areas really annoying on this ship in that they were kind of everywhere. Curious if its bad on your cruise or if my cruise just happened to gather all the smokers in the world. Also, don't miss serenity. We waited until the last day because we had a kid with us. If I had known how much better it was in there, I would have let the kid to fend for himself! Also, under no circumstances should you miss being on top of the ship to go under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge if you have not done it at least once. It is super cool. The movies posted earlier were still the same ones showing. They did show Jurassic Park in the theater when we missed Grand Cayman, but other than that no movies in the theater during the day. Cruise Elegant nights were first sea day and Roatan day. Chocolate buffet is the last sea day like usual. Alchemy had snacks available by request in the evenings. But that area filled up FAST. No snacks unless sitting at the bar top.
