akmom1heck Posted December 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Based on ship only, which ship is your favorite? I'll be cruising with my husband, 2 - 17 year olds and possibly 2 - 21 year olds. Thanks!
BoDidly Posted December 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Glory is much better than Paradise.
Rare Saint Greg Posted December 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2018 haven't been on those specific ships but have been on those classes and I would always do conquest class (glory) over fantasy class (paradise). Unless it's a situation where I want to go to Cuba and Paradise is the only way...something like that.
PhillyFan33579 Posted December 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Not really a question in my mind if it’s only about the ships. There is no comparison between Conquest class ships (Glory) and Fantasy class ships (Paradise). Personally Conquest class ships are my second favorite Carnival ships behind Dream class ships. evandbob Posted December 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2018 (edited) I have a soft spot for the then non-smoking Paradise since it was my very 1st and 2nd cruise, but that was way back in 2003. I wouldn't think of sailing it today, 16 years later. I've been on the Glory several times, inc. a 21 day B2B Journeys cruise. I've probably sailed the Conquest class ships maybe 25 times, so if my choice was between the Glory and Paradise, as the OP stipulated, I would pick the Glory. Handles the seas better, larger, more space, more food venues, newer. Now if my choice was between the Glory and any ship in the Dream or Vista class, Glory would lose out, but that's a different question. SkyMaster Posted December 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2018 I too, LOVE "Paradise" as she sails from my home port of Tampa, but the fact is, that between the two, I've got to admit that I'd choose "Glory", and especially for a family cruise. CRocks Posted December 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2018 I like the open air deckspace of the Fantasy class ships, but Glory blows them away. And, if you're considering a balcony, a suite is the only option on Fantasy class ships.
sc4125 Posted December 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2018 I've sailed on both - as a matter of fact I was just on the Glory in October & on the Paradise in July. I think it depends on what you want to do. I really like the Paradise & the port is only 30 minutes away - it is smaller & doesn't offer as much, but there are times when I prefer being on a smaller ship. The Glory is a typical Conquest Class ship - I've been on her 2 times and had a good time. The only downfall for me is that she sails from Miami. If you are going for the bells & whistles, the Glory would be the best bet. If you are going just to kick back & relax, the Paradise should suit you just fine. Djptcp Posted December 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 19, 2018 We have cruised 47 times and 34 on Carnival. We sailed on the Glory once and sail on the Paradise several times a year because we live 45 minutes from the Port of Tampa, so very convenient. The Glory is a newer ship in a different class, so you can't really compare the ships regarding space, physical layout, etc. For some reason, we found the Glory not passenger-friendly in regards to navigating the ship and decided we would probably never sail on her again. The food was good and the crew was nice, we just didn't like the ship's layout. We love the Paradise and it's easy to navigate. Was just on her last month (4th time this year) and she has a great crew and good food. It has many updates since dry dock earlier this year, like Guy's Burger Joint, and many new Jr. Suites added on Deck 14. Don't have kids, so can't comment on how either would be for yours. Two very different ships and our bias is probably because we try to sail out of Tampa as much as possible because it's so close and not the 3 hour drive to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. Another bias is that I receive many casino bounce back offers/Premier casino offers and we are retired and can sail whenever we want to, so we chose the closest ships. Florings Posted December 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2018 The one downside to Paradise for me is that is doesn't have the dive in movie theater. For that reason alone, I would choose the Glory.
77sue Posted December 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 19, 2018 Definitely Glory. We went on the paradise in November, did not care for the layout. Much prefer the Glory and other conquest class ships.
PMKKcruisin Posted December 23, 2018 #12 Share Posted December 23, 2018 Hi! We sailed Glory over spring break in 2017 and it was amazing. Just got off the paradise today. The ship is nice and I was excited because everyone raved over how much nicer the smaller ships are, but I did not feel that way. It felt very much like we were all wedged in with one another, and I never felt that way on the Glory. We had just sailed on Glory after her dry dock, and Paradise after hers... as far as that goes, they have been updated quite nicely but I liked Glory better. The waterworks looked nicer on Paradise, but alas, the day we were going to play on that part of the boat, the rough seas kept us elsewhere. 🙂
pooksma Posted December 23, 2018 #13 Share Posted December 23, 2018 Been on both, although it has been a while. We really liked them both for different reasons. If I had to choose I'd pick Glory.
