We leave Orlando at 5:30 pm with our 5 yo daughter.  Any suggestions of doing something outside airport until then?

Just remember you should be back at the airport by 3:30.  TSA at Orlando can be a bear, sometimes.  I could suggest that you just remain at the airport, there are lots of shops and dining places there.

Another thought - get a day room at the Hyatt MCO.  That way you can ease back into "real" life a bit easier, and you have use of the facilities (pool, for example).

You might want to check and see if your cruise line offers any post cruise excursions that are of any interest to you

We have done this before and once the excursion was over,  they dropped us off at the airport for a late afternoon flight.
