Clue...is it just a revenue promotion?

Has anyone got experience with Clue on Horizon? Is it worth getting involved?  It appears at first blush that you have to go to pay events such as Bingo to get clues. So are they just trying to raise profits with this or is it a worthwhile endeavor? What prizes do they have? TIA

You don’t have to pay anything to get clues during the week. In your example with bingo, they normally give out clues before playing bingo. The game is fun, but it definitely isn’t a must do. The winner is drawn out of a hat, since a lot of people will have the right answer (all you need to do is attend/obtain every clue event during the week).  The winner normally gets the typical prizes...ship on a stick, cheap bottle of wine or champagne, etc.

People here on Cruise Critic have reported that the staff forgot to give the clue at the shore excursions presentation where they also hype Diamonds International and other questionable options. The people attending had to remind the staff to return to the stage and announce the clue! The Carnival staff were literally clueless. :classic_huh:

OP, your first blush is correct and after reading several reports all saying to stay clear of Clue, we have.

I too, have witnessed events where the staff forgot to give out the Clue, for the "CLUE" game.  IMO, it's not worth fooling around with, unless you just happened to attend the great majority of the events anyway.

On the Sunshine in November, you could get all the clues without going to any revenue generating pitches. It was very easy to find the answer as the suspect, weapon and person were linked together and they normally gave out at least 2 of the 3 uniquely per clue. The final draw was at bingo, but it happened before bingo started.

We had fun playing Clue on the Legend during our Alaska cruise, but that’s because every day, they posted the new clue near the coffee shop. Each clue was a puzzle to solve, and once you solved each one, you new who the person was, where it happened, and what the weapon was. We then had to put our answer card in a box on the lido at a certain time on one of the last days. Then the CD pulled one and that person got a Hasbro prize pack. I believe she kept pulling until she got a card with the correct answer, though. Which is only fair.

We just got of the Fantasy and my kids (11 & 15) found it fun to collect the clues each day. They were old enough to of the "clue reveals" without us, so it nice they could do that on their own during sea days. They did a drawing to determine a winner on the last day from the entries that were handed in. By the end of the cruise, there weren't that many people that were still playing it.
