carla748 Posted January 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2019 We are a party of 10 and have all requested anytime dining. How do we handle this? We’d like to eat between 6-6:30 each night. What are our chances? Can we book the same table each night? We plan to go to specialty restaurants a couple times also. Thanks for for your replies
CruiserBruce Posted January 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2019 As discussed here frequently, reservations are not allowed during peak hours, which are typically 6pm-7:15, or similar. This can vary between ships. There will be some 10 seat tables, but whether you get the same table every night will depend on conditions a little. Some people have reported a cooperating dining room manager (or assistant), which has helped get something of a "reservation", even when not allowed. RuthC Posted January 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2019 Your 6:00 PM thought is within the allowed time to make a reservation in open seating. I suggest you ask to have a table for six next to a table for four, for your party. People can chat somewhat back and forth, can more easily talk at the table than a table for 10 would allow, and they can switch around on different nights so everyone gets a chance to eat with everyone else. grsnovi Posted January 20, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2019 That's a great idea Ruth! We'll be taking the kids and grand kids out on E'dam this summer. DW wants us all to gather for meals but tables for 10 don't really make chatting easy. We've been in the MDR next to large groups at adjacent tables. I'll have to remember that come August! Hope it works out for you! It's even better when you have the same stewards for each table, but the time my party had two tables with different stewards, they caught on to all of it quickly, and worked together for us. There was a time there were 16 of us. There was a rectangular table for 6 with a smaller rectangular table next, both at the window, and a round table for 6 one row in, and between the other two tables. It worked out beautifully. We could chat a little with each table, and moved around a little each night. The stewards just rolled with it.
