Fascination Boarding Time

Recommended Posts

Hmm, when we sailed on the Fascination out of San Juan the sail time was 10 pm.  Are you sure it's sailing at 6 pm?  As far as boarding times are concerned, it's the same as with ships that sail from other ports, so about 11:30.  Some people choose to check-in in late, however, so that they can sight see in San Juan.  I also believe that you may be able to board, and then leave for awhile and then come back before it sails.  I think they give you some sort of in-transit pass to get back on so you don't have to go through check-in again.  People kind of treat it like a port day.

.

After check-in and getting your stuff to your cabin

yes, many ppl then get back off the ship to roam around quaint Old San Juan.

You do this to-ing and fro-ing

on the strength of the cruise card they just issued you, when you checked-in!

Last I knew, they wanted everyone back on board

by 8:30 p.m. for sailaway at 10 or a lil after.

And I think they want everyone checked-in by about 6:00 p.m

although for a problematic late flight or some such

I'm sure Carnival will have someone there

to check in those last few who haven't yet shown up.

Don't panic.

Hmm... Apparently Carnival is making a change to this itinerary starting May 2019. The current itinerary is St. Thomas, day at sea, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and back to San Juan. Starting with the May 5, 2019 sailing that changes to star in St. Thomas and do the rest of the itinerary in reverse order with the sea day being the last day, coming back to San Juan. I see this all the way to the April 2021 booking limit right now.

Interesting change, since this sailing is so port intensive. Now people have a day to relax before arriving to San Juan which is specially usefull for those who get off the ship and board a plane a few hours later for their flight back to the States.

When we sailed on her in September, we had no sea days. Our itinerary was St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, and back to San Juan. We loved visiting a new port everyday. Since they are changing it, I'm glad we sailed her when we did.

As a habitual Barbados-boarder

I'm not so sure I like that change, but at my age we don't handle Change too well.

Four-letter-word you know..

Will soon need a new graphic to replace this!

If I read you right, you're saying it'll be.....

Sunday - Boarding at San Juan, P.Rico

Monday - Saint Thomas

Tuesday - Sint Maarten

Wednesday - Saint Kitts

Thursday - Saint Lucia

Friday -  Barbados (me!)

Saturday all day - Day at Sea

Sunday - Back to San Juan, PR

If that is the case...

traditionally Wednesday has been Carnival Whale Tail Day

here in Barbados since ..OMG.. since "When Adam was a lad!"

Do I have this right?? Anyone?

The above change in Southern Caribbean itin

and the day-stops I postulated per week-day

has just been confirmed by my local Cruise Consultant booking ppl

who are in reliable contact with Carnival Corp.

Its out on the website - I saw that itinerary when looking at doing another Fascination cruise in 2020.
