zitsky Posted January 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2019 Costa Maya is a stop for Royal Caribbean. They (apparently) have tours to Chacchoben and Kohunlich to see Mayan ruins. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get there from the ship? Did you do the ship tour, was it a fair price, or did you go with a private tour? StampedersFans Posted February 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2019 We did the Chacchoben excursion last week and loved it. An hour drive each way from the port and we rode in a big air conditioned bus and they gave us cold water bottles. The tour or the ruins was awesome. I think the excursion was 4 hours. We sailed NCL and booked with them. I can't remembered what we paid for the excursion but it was well worth it. There were bathrooms at the site and a vendors to purchase souvenirs from. On the way back to the port they had free wifi on the bus which was a bonus.
JT1962 Posted February 2, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) We did the Chacchoben Extreme Tour with Native Choice and were very satisfied. We went to the ruins then a resort at the Baccalar Lagoon for lunch and some beach time. Native Choice has several tour options, gets great reviews and is usually less expensive than the cruise line tours.
