We are planning to go to Scandinavia and Russia on the Celebrity Reflection which is a 12 night sailing with 4 sea days.  Does anyone know if there is anything special scheduled onboard on the 4 sea days such as enrichment lectures about Scandinavia and Russia?  Thanks in advance.

When we did the Baltics there was an excellent speaker on board who talked about the history of St Petersburg and its construction.  I went to several talks about the history of the ports, the czars etc, I really enjoy that sort of things. DH preferred to sleep in.

They also did a cooking show / chefs challenge and I went to that. Ended up on stage as one of the "judgeds" in the taste testing panel. It was fun as well.

Thanks for your response.  That sounds great.  I called Celebrity but they did not know about speakers onboard.  That is exactly what we are hoping for.  When did you go?

15 days Baltics Celebrity Eclipse 2015

Hands down one of my fav cruises besides Alaska

We did all of the ports on our own except St Petersburg where we used Dancing Bear for privates touring for 2 days (outstanding)

Edited to ad--- I always thought the Cruise Director was irrelevant-- until this cruise and Sue Denning was the CD. She is outstanding.

It's nice having some time to relax and not do much as this is usually a pretty busy cruise.

I loved being able to make a pot of tea in the room and watch the sea.

The wind turbine fields IN the sea were fascinating.

My friend and I went to the art auction on a Baltic sea day for the sole purpose of the free champagne.....and if you are brave enough to volunteer as the auditioneer for a round, they reward you with an entire bottle. She definitely took one for the team! We also tried our hand at a Zumba class.

Will definitely look for the educational speakers this time around!

REST...  the Baltic cruises are a very port intensive cruise with some very long days in some of the ports.  We welcomed the sea days as a way to recharge our batteries.  We did one of the Baltic cruises last year and it was great, I’m sure you will enjoy the trip.

btw, we used SPB tours in St Petersburg and a couple of other ports and they were great.
