Interesting aside: while waiting to board, they called for the special assistance passengers. A number of people in wheelchairs were pushed up the ramp. A man with a cane walked up and insisted that he needed to board now due to the use of a cane. Well, I just passed the same guy in the hallway on the way to the restroom, and guess what? No cane... He walks perfectly fine. Now, I'm all for special needs boarding first if there is an actual need, but anyone could bring a cane and fake it like this guy, who obviously has no requirement...

It's interesting how I have no problem paying twenty bucks for a craft cocktail, but I refuse to pay four dollars for a bottle of airport water...

Am I the only one who has experienced an outage of the website for the past hour or so? Anyhoo, we move on... After lunch I made my way back to Vibe for a margarita with Patron silver... Interestingly, there was no upcharge, and the bartender said it was included. Perhaps the new, grossly absurd beverage price increase hasn't hit the Breakaway yet?

Soon, cabins were ready, and I went down and set up my new home for the next ten days. All my shirts are hung in the closet, and my toiletries and whatnot set up. Then I headed back to Vibe for a mango margarita, frozen with Patron silver. Still no upcharge... And, with one heck of a straw, that I thought NCL did away with.

Then I checked out the main pool area, which features another large smoking area. I think the Breakaway has the most smoking zones than any other NCL ship. The casino also reeks badly of cigarettes.

I just pounded a couple more Patron silver mango margaritas before the bars shut down for muster drill... Sorry, no photos. The drinks in the plastic NCL cups don't really have enough panache for featuring every single drink. I'm feeling pretty good now, I better go install a patch before I go much further.

Putting the smoking area right there was one of the stupidest things NCL ever did..Getaway has it too.. As far as H20 that entire bar and the side of it is smoking. Gag....Lol. I hate smoke. But, it won't make or break my cruise come October. Being that the casino reeks of the smell (You are not the first person I've heard say that about Breakaway) this might keep me away from playing the machines. It wasn't bad at all on Escape.

They just now made the announcement for the muster drill, but the doors to the theater are closed and locked. In fact, their still boarding passengers on deck seven starboard. Possible cluster f#ck about to ensue...

Sid, I believe I read that they rolled back some of the changes that were going to be made with the beverage package.  It seems that they listened to customer feedback thankfully!

Sid, i rejoined CC a month or so ago after several years of not cruising or posting here. I somehow was lucky enough to stumble across a review of yours, it must have been the Bliss since I recently booked her for next year. I read that whole review in one evening in a total wonderful happy binge! Loved it and was sad when it ended. And look! Here I find this one! Yay. I’m glad you aren’t doing it completely live. I felt such frustration for you! It’s nice to know you will be enjoying yourself without that aggravation. Just wanted to tell you I’m so happy to see you here again and be in on the fun as it is posted this time. Love your writing and your exploits, large and small.

According to my time stamp on my pre muster post, the whole debacle took nearly an hour. In fact, when the drill let out they were still embarking passengers. I made my way back to Vibe, and Edgar whipped me up a Patron silver fresh lime margarita with Cointreau... Included! Someone mentioned that NCL may have rethought some of the increased beverage prices due to the hooha.
