Moving on... I walked over to Mr Ed's oyster bar, supposedly a New Orleans institution... I ordered a Patron silver margarita, and the bartender gave me a funny look... Anyhoo, it's pretty strong, I watched him make it.

I think it's mandatory to have some grilled oysters in New Orleans, so when in Rome... I ordered a half dozen charbroiled oysters, and the guy brought out a whole dozen... Said he would only charge me for 6... Bonus!...

I guess that you could say I've come "full circle"... I'm back at Maypop where it all started earlier today for another crimson cooler... Also, there was a bone marrow dish that is only served at dinner, so I'm having that as well...

Now, I've walked at least 15 miles today, and my feet are feeling every step of it... I'll be doing good just to make it back to the hotel.

 

After Irene's, I walked up and down Bourbon Street for a while. The sights and smells are indescribable. I could try, but I wouldn't do it justice. And, remember this was at around 7-7:30 in the evening. I can only imagine what it's like in prime time. A bit of a crazy scene indeed.

I would say it is a mix of sweat, puke, pee, and alcohol. That pretty much describes it!  😂 wait until a couple of weeks from now for Mardi Gras. Then the smells get even better!

 

Hope you having a good time! I’m sure you have walked quite a bit. But I hope you have enjoyed the sights along the way.

Wow, I really do feel like an old fart... It's 9:15, I'm back at the hotel with my feet up, and pretty much about to get ready for bed... I've had a long day today, with a LOT of walking. I calculated my food and beverage costs today, and I'm close to $200... The worst thing is that I'm not even drunk... Full, yes. Drunk, no...

 

I have another big day tomorrow, embarking on my first cruise of more than 8 days... First time cruising out of New Orleans on the mighty Mississippi River...

 

Thanks to all of you who have followed along and commented. Thanks to the "lurkers" too... We're all going to have a blast together these next ten days... Well, it'll mostly be me having a blast, but you'll all be along for the ride vicariously...

Don’t forget the week-old garbage waiting to be picked up smell thrown in there also......Gotta love Bourbon Street!
