Flam railway tickets

Hi

we would like to arrange our own Flam train tickets but on the Flam web site they are all sold out,there is another site but the tickets are not available to next month,we will be arriving in June and it looks like there is only the Brittania in port,does any one know if tickets are usually available to purchase to avoid the ships expensive excursion.

I won't comment on whether you should book in advance or not, but there is availability every day in May

We visited Flam last September and booked tickets independently for the railway. There was a similar problem that initially the tickets were all shownas sold out, but in fact they don't go on public sale until, from memory, around 3 months beforehand. That would be why there is availability in May but not June.

We are planning on taking the train up and cycling back down, so I have written to the café (where you hire the bikes) about the lack of train tickets. I'll let you know what they reply.

Thanks very interested we would like to cycle back down already booked bikes for return just need to get train tickets.

Book you tickets at This site if any available for the desired departure - most train s are sold out in the morning on busy days  - at nsb.no you can only purchase 90 days in advance.

Thanks Hallasm. Looks like we're out of luck and all the trains that could work for us are sold out on 10 June. Will need to find something else to do 😞

keep looking nearer the time

often the ship block books a whole batch of tickets and releases them back if passenger demand not as high as expected

 

this happened to us a few years ago and a large party on our roll call obtained tickets about 2 months out
