marylovestotravel Posted February 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2019 I was wondering if someone could update me on the rules for onboard credit. I understand that the onboard credit you receive from Oceania is not cashable and you can't take any unspent amounts home. If I received some onboard credit from my travel agent, can I cash it out and take it with me at the end of the cruise? Thanks Mia
Rare Noxequifans Posted February 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2019 Any OBC that is refundable is so designated. In my experience most is not.
Mura Posted February 24, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2019 I believe that the TA OBC is refundable. Ship OBC is not. But it is true that when you check in you will have some postcards showing any OBC, tours booked, etc., and it will be clearly stated if the OBC is refundable or not. We usually go shopping on board when we have non-refundable OBC. Normally we wouldn't do that ...
Rare LHT28 Posted February 24, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2019 some TA's will give you OBC but it is from the cruiseline so you need to ask if the OBC is refundable or not

Mrs f. Posted February 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Depends if it is called refundable or unrefundable. We got $103 cash back last week on last day of cruise.
Mura Posted February 26, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2019 In fact, when we left Riviera in May they practically chased us to make sure we knew we had refundable OBC (as we checked out). We'd already told Reception twice to refund it to the credit card, which they did ... but it appeared not everyone was aware. Mura
