So, I hope you all are ready for a week of pictures of beers, drinks, food, events, the ship, the ports, and random thoughts and opinions from me. This is my first attempt at one of these, so I will try to be a mix of informative and fun. 

 

I work in a high-stress career and I have found cruising to be a great escape from work, life, and drama.  I have already worked my last day before vacation... and now my brain is already on the ship, I just need to get the body caught up to it. 

 

I am really looking forward to this trip and trying to figure out what my next adventure will be. I have considered seeing if I can swing the Panama Canal for the Bliss coming up, or going elsewhere and seeing another ship in the NCL fleet. So far I have really enjoyed NCL. 

 

I do plan to attend some of the solo meetings organized by NCL. I recently found out that a singles cruise company will also be on this trip, so I do not know if that will harm the attendance at the NCL solo events, or help it. I guess time will tell. 

 

Now I must go and start the TO DO list.... I am sure I will post along the way

 

Wow the Panama Canal cruise just weeks after this one?  If you decide to do that, we will see you on that cruise!

Packing is done. Just a few items to grab as I walk out the door in the morning.

Bundling May have worked. We shall see.


Now it is time for a well earned beer or two.

Keep feeling like I have forgotten something. Here is hoping it’s something I can purchase on board.

I’m not always the best at approaching new people. So a friend sent me this for advice.



I’ll come up with a better manage expectations section of course. LOL

I finished packing and decided to treat myself with a walk in the park. I left my house and found this beautiful sunset.



To get to the park I needed to take a monorail:



Once at the park I found my way to a small food joint called Cosmic Rays. They had a special burger deal that I couldn’t resist.



That’s right. That’s a burger with bacon. Cheese sauce. Mac and cheese. And something called cheese dust.

After dinner I took a walk and was treated to a show.


I just kept walking and the show just kept going.





I decided to head out before the mass exit post show.



And then took a ferry back to my truck.

If today was a work day instead of the day I depart home for the beginning of this vacation, I would have hit the snooze twice, and my second (back-up) alarm clock would have needed to engage before I would have emerged from my slumber and comfy bed.

 

However, since I leave today, I awoke 1 hour before my alarm was set for. I sort of am upset I missed an hour of sleep; however, I am also too excited about my vacation starting to care. (I may regret that later tonight).

 

Off to eat breakfast...  more to follow soon as the adventure to Miami begins.

Finished breakfast, loaded the truck, turned off the water heater….

Next stop fill up on Fuel,



then a Haircut,



and now I am on the road to South to Miami. Maybe one more stop for a road drink.

I will see you on the cruise!!  Too bad I didn't see this post sooner! HAHA We are coming from Pt Saint Lucie and paying a lot for a driver to get us down there tonight!   Looking forward to my first time on NCL and the Bliss!

So I arrived at my hotel, checked in, and on arrival at the room the do not disturb sign was on the door. I saw lots of doors this way so maybe they leave it on? So my key worked I walk in and immediately see someone’s clothing in the closet. I walk out.

After a visit to the lobby I’m upgraded. Check this room out.





I think it’s bigger than my first apartment was.

Since the weather is amazing I went for a walk. Found a local bakery and tried a cookie. It was yummy.



Then I made it to my first brewery. It’s called Concrete Beach Brewery.


This is the brewery that makes some beers for Walt Disney world. They are not supposed to talk about it. But after a flight I was given samples of the beers they had to rename from the Disney versions.

I then went to eat some dinner. I went to the Butcher shop beer garden and grill. It was part of all of its name.

I walked and stopped at a few other places and ended up at J.Wakefield Brewing.


Wow this place has some Star Wars art




Both breweries had a special beer. If you have not heard many breweries across the country have a beer that all proceeds go to those affected by the devastating camp fire in CA.


So of course I had to have that one a couple of times. It was for charity.
