Hotels weekend of April 12th

Hi. I have noticed the hotels near Port Everglades are extremely expensive this weekend. Is this because of the music fest? Or am I looking in the wrong place? Any recommendations for another hotel in driving distance that would be reasonable? Thanks. We are driving and I want to prebook so we aren't running around outside the city.

You are booking very late. It is Spring Break. Many people are in the area escaping cold northern winter.  And a couple of other causes. A month in advance is really not pre-booking.

The Wyndham Garden in Dania Beach and the Tryp on the Marina Mile are showing rates for under $200 before taxes. Both are good!

 

But you have a car so you could easily stay in Hollywood or Lauderdale by the Sea or Plantation or even further out.

If you don't mind being a little further out and you just want a clean comfortable place to sleep try choicehotels.com. We have had a lot of luck getting reasonable rates from them. Their facilities tend to be older but every one we have stayed in has been clean and comfortable. I hope this helps!

The Tortuga Music Festival (http://www.tortugamusicfestival.com/) is being held on the beach from April 12 through April 14.  Attendance in 2017 broke 100,000 people.  The beach area will be crazy!

Wow! 100,000 people at the music festival. That will be crazy and definitely explains the price hike for that weekend at places closer to the beach and port. We have no problem being further out. Thank you for the information Jean-Lynd and SteerageJoe.
