hawkman402 Posted March 9, 2019 #27 Share Posted March 9, 2019 Yeah, my last cruise was at $99. Was looking forward to trying again for it on our 3/31 cruise. Haven't decided yet but its a tough increase to swallow. It's nice to have the secluded area and all but what I really like is you get to know the other "Vibe'rs" and make new friends. We still keep in touch with some of them. Works out for shy people like my Wife and I. Usually the bartenders are great too. Make you feel like Norm on Cheers! Shidah Posted March 9, 2019 #28 Share Posted March 9, 2019 Where is the latest place to buy Vibe passes on the Escape? I know it changes.
Shidah Posted March 9, 2019 #29 Share Posted March 9, 2019 Can anyone confirm that the price increased on the Escape? I don’t mind the new price, may make it easier to get one.
travelingirl70 Posted March 9, 2019 #30 Share Posted March 9, 2019 We are in the Getaway 3/10 and won our upgrade to The Haven. Really glad we went this route because I debated staying where we were and buying Vibe passes. Makes our Haven upgrade even more worth it.

AlexandNessa Posted March 9, 2019 #32 Share Posted March 9, 2019 I can't see us doing this ever again. The one time we bought Vibe passes, our cruise was Friday to Friday. They closed Vibe Monday afternoon due to the weather, never to reopen for the remainder of our cruise. There was zero offer of a prorated refund, and when one of our Vibe mates inquired at guest services, they were referred to the "no refunds due to inclement weather" clause. Would not risk that at the higher price.

That's exactly why WE have "choices"! You either "choose" to purchase or not. While it may not be "worth" it to some it is to others. Supply and demand has worked for decades, NCL is taking advantage of that.

Sky111 Posted March 10, 2019 Author #35 Share Posted March 10, 2019 I agree, that is why we choose to spend our vacation money elsewhere in the future. Sorry to offend the brand loyalists out there.

Vacationing in the US is getting extremely expensive for Canadians.

Sky111 Posted March 11, 2019 Author #42 Share Posted March 11, 2019 No, did not sell out, and the most I saw people there were on the first day. about 1/4 of the recliners were taken and about 4 seats at the bar in use. Sea Day was too windy to enjoy, on the way back sea day had so many activities we did not make it to the vibe at all.

cruiseguy2424 Posted March 11, 2019 #44 Share Posted March 11, 2019 Glad to hear about the up charge, it will possibly be less busy. I will gladly pay the price increase. It was WAY to cheap before.

You might just have the place to yourself, be sure to get your drinks lined up early as the bar closes at 7, never heard of a bar closing at 7PM before. Also bring a weighted cup holder and cover to keep your drink from tipping from the wind. I had to hold my hand over my Mudslide to keep the contents from being blown out of the cup from the wind all over the deck. Yeah, it is that windy up there. And if you would like a snack it is a long walk down a flight of stars and a long walk to the opposite end of the ship to get to the buffet. No, its a major inconvenience, a long walk to get there and was not worth it to IMO. The bartender(s) up there were great and was fun when we all did group shots but to be honest I think it is better to go on an upscale cruiseline than paying extra for an oasis away from the heard. For the added fee of the Vibe, I think the cabanas should be included, not one was rented, there should be some Hors d'oeuvre's, and a wait staff or something. We had to get up and go to the bar to get a drink at the Vibe everytime were were there except for the first day. At the main pool someone came and brought us a drink no problem. The cabana also features a fully stocked mini-bar with refreshing waters and sodas, as well as a choice of alcoholic options, including beer or wine. Sanctuary Cabanas are available beginning at $80 for a half day. Edited March 11, 2019 by Georgie562
