Holds on Debit Cards

We generally put cash into our sail and sign card, and do not have credit cards.  Does anyone know the amount the hold is for a 7 day cruise pp for debit cards?  I know it takes longer to drop off, which is fine if you have that cushion.  I checked the Carnival site and the link goes nowhere.

The hold lasts several days(maybe a week) after you return from your cruise.

Stick with Cash - it's so much simpler

than tangling with Banks and Carnival's holds!

The HUGE problem is, it's not just 1 hold.

Whenever the initial amount held is close to running out, they call and get another authorization, and repeat for the duration of the cruise. You could end up with a final bill charged of $500 but still have an additional $500 to $1000 worth of Holds that won't come off and free up your funds for a few days to a few weeks.
