mojavetex Posted March 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2019 We got an email (like others did) that the departure time on our Dream cruise had changed. So I decided to just look at the port times on our cruises. Noticed that one of our port times had changed on our cruise 3 months out. Never had that happen before. I guess that is something to watch for especially if you are not booking an excursion through Carnival which we are not. Luckily, we have not booked our excursion yet. Cruiser_1977 Posted March 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Yes, it's happened. I am told it is becoming more common. However, the reasons given vary.
joepeka Posted March 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Yes it's happened to us as well. As far as non-Carnival excursions, those providers in the ports will know (should know) about the itinerary change and adjust accordingly.
Alaskan Joe Posted March 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Yes this has happened to us. In fact, we had a port change (rather a day change) same port different day. This port had a brewery which I was looking forward to, and when we got there the brewery was CLOSED . Furthermore, a lot of things were closed in this port? We later found out from a local bar which was open that told us this ship was scheduled to come tomorrow not today, so the locals were not ready for us . This was Alaska and the end of the season and the cruise line never informed Sitka of the change.

We had it happen twice on future bookings in the past 6 months, also one port switch. Is what it is.
Butterbean1000 Posted March 13, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2019 It's pretty common. We received an email our departure time at Cape Canaveral moved up 1/2. Our cruise was still 9 months out when we received it.
emoorehead Posted March 14, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2019 I got an email a few weeks ago that they changed the times for 2 of the ports on my upcoming cruise. A little annoying, but not much you can do about it.
Joebucks Posted March 14, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2019 I had that once. Truth be told, I'm glad I was told far in advance rather than a day or two before. I'm not here to dwell on things I can complain about. I'm here to make the best of what I have.
