vtcruising Posted March 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2019 I have found that the Edge activities have evolved rapidly over the last few months, with many of the changes likely due to guest feedback. Comparing my December daily to my late January daily, the differences are very apparent. There was paper trivia added (had been all electronic early on), dancing lessons, meditation, arts and crafts, archery, table maze, pamper parties, ping pong, bean bag toss, drone racing, the usual officers vs guests contests, lectures (such as Ship's Navigation), game shows and many more music opportunities (and of course, the usual for fee or sales pitch activities). The nightly shows include production shows that some seem to love and others (like us), not so much, resident performers (we enjoyed these concerts, but they weren't necessarily our cup of tea - the theater really enhances the shows!) and guest performers (guest performers all excellent on our last cruise - 2 very good comedians and a singer/violinist who received rave reviews, though we unfortunately didn't attend). I would say for us the shows were pretty much on par as most other X cruises for us. I'm sure things are missing on the Edge for some, but it's only been 4 months so we'll see how things evolve. There are some things, like a card room and library, that are important to some and are not on the Edge (my DH misses the library). I think Celebrity probably realizes that they need to at least re-look at those areas on future ships. They have already allocated space for card playing during the day and added a book exchange cart (and there are many quiet nooks for reading), but time will tell, if they need to rethink future E Class ships, if their guests are not happy. I would vote for a dedicated card space and a quiet book nook. The reason that I started this thread was because I found some nice info sheets that outline the activities and entertainment/live music on the Edge and videos of some of those activities. Since I wish I had seen these before my Edge cruises so that I would have known more about the various activities and live music options and likely would have tried some of these things (I wish I had done archery, table maze, the Green Room, for example). Hopefully, this will be helpful to future Edge cruisers. I did notice that when they developed these information sheets, they did not list paper trivia, just electronic. Please know that there has been paper trivia opportunities, in addition to the electronic type. There are likely other changes since these were done (looks like Feb, 2019), but at least you can get an idea about what is available onboard. 🙂 Activities Info: http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/Celebrity_Life_Activities_Flyer.pdf Entertainment/Live Music Info: http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/Entertainment-live_music_Flyer.pdf Camp at Sea (Family Entertainment Program): http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/Camp_at_Sea_Flyer.pdf Video of Table Maze: http://thecelebritycommitment.com/Video_EDGE_Entertainment_Table_Maze_Sizzle.html Video of Archery: http://thecelebritycommitment.com/Video_EDGE_Entertainment_Archery_Sizzle.html Land of Khalida Show Video Clip: http://thecelebritycommitment.com/Video_EDGE_Entertainment_Land_of_Khalida.html Kaleidoscope Show Video Clip: http://thecelebritycommitment.com/Video_EDGE_Entertainment_Kaleidoscope.html Video of Marcus Terrell - Resident Performer: http://thecelebritycommitment.com/Video_EDGE_Entertainment_Headliner_Marcus_Terell_Sizzle.html 2

Rare hcat Posted March 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2019 Hi Vt There are apparently new additions but I think you should link this new entry to the thread about a lack of activities on EDGE, where many other positive suggestions were posted. Hate to have to repeat them all. Whatever happened to Andromeda? ( the late nite interactive adventure where folks were to be assigned a role play identity to interact with odd costumed actors) We never went..it seemed wierd, boring and too late at night.,.A better use of the CLUB could be offered,

I will try to find that thread. We didn't go to Andromeda either, but did like a few things in the Club. Live at the Club was soooo much fun (kind of like Tonight Show). We love that kind of thing. DH went to the Dance with the Edge Theater Ensemble Band and said the music was unbelievable. After looking at the flyer above, I can see that I missed some other things like the Green Room. I guess I will have to live vicariously through Katie, Suzy, Michelle, C-Dragons and you before I get back onboard! 🙂 Edited March 26, 2019 by vtcruising
