Bars and lounges on the Jade, what time do they open?

Hello!  I’m organizing a pub/poker crawl on the Jade in May.  Can anyone tell me what time the bar venues open?  Looking for five venues in order to complete our poker hands.  Any successful tips for poker/pub crawls?  We had over 70 participants signed up at last count!  This is going to be a fun and crazy crawl, your tips are appreciated! Thank you in advance!!!

We participated in a well organized pub crawl on the Jewel a few weeks ago.  The Jewel’s layout is identical to the Jade.  We started at the Pit Stop at 3:00, then O’Sheehan’s, next Atrium Bar, then 1 of the bar city bars on deck 6.  The other 2 bars were also open so it would be easy to move over for the last stop of the crawl.

Our organizer let each bar know about the crawl in advance - so they were staffed for us.

I've run several pub/poker crawls in the past and have found that trying to select 5 bars before boarding is not the best plan.  Bar hours sometimes change from cruise-to-cruise.  Some of the venues may be holding special events (trivia for example).  For the purpose of informing the participants, they only need to know the "first" bar to meet-up.  Once onboard I check out all the bars in advance and eliminate those that just don't fit (too small a venue for the numbers on the crawl for example) and come up with a list of possibilities.  Then I check out the activity newspaper the night before to eliminate any that will be holding an activity that will conflict with our crawl.

I've found it better to NOT tell the participants in advance which 5 bars we will be visiting to avoid the confusion of last-minute changes onboard.  Just give them the meetup point (first bar) and you can do the rest in the background.  Hope you've found this useful.  Have fun!

Thank you all for the advice!  We have decided on a 3pm start time, so it sounds like we can keep that in place.  We are on a transatlantic cruise, so lots of sea days, planning the pub crawl on our 4th sea day.  That will give me lots of time to check out the venues and speak with the bar staff, I’m sure the bar staff will recognize some of us by then! 😂 We then have our 5th sea day to recover from the pub crawl before we hit land!

@erdoran I tried to get the email address for the beverage manager through the group Coordinator (I think you gave me the group Coordinator’s email) but no luck...they just dismissed me 😏 I wanted to make sure that there weren’t any activities going on in any of the venues and I wanted to give the bar staff a heads up...Oh well, I’ll contact them once on the ship unless anyone has contact info to share! 😁

Worst case you can find beverage manager or at least get contact info at the M&G.  I'd guess it won't take them too long to help write up a schedule and inform the bars that they are going to get hammered, and when!

I love this idea!  I've done a pub crawl before on cruises but never with the poker piece.  I would love to do this for our next cruise in December on the Bliss.

Sorry, no new advice for you.  I just got off the Jade last month.  There are some bars that you will pack the place at 70 people - if there is even enough room for you all.  Good luck and please post back to let us know how it goes.
