Tigglesville Posted April 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2019 As a treat for a big birthday I am thinking of booking a luxury cruise and was looking at Silversea. My one worry is that I cannot fly from Birmingham Airport, which is my preferred option. When looking at the website I am getting a little confused as to whether I can fly from Birmingham. Has anyone been on a Silversea cruise flying from Birmingham?

Tigglesville Posted April 11, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2019 Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Trouble is I’m from the UK and Birmingham is based in the West Midlands. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my post. Thank you anyway for responding
Observer Posted April 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2019 (edited) I think the OP is referring to Birmingham, England, not Birmingham, AL. Later: Can't delete my post. Sorry. I see that OP has clarified. Edited April 11, 2019 by Observer
mfb237 Posted April 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2019 My in-laws are in an area (Missoula MT) that is not on the sky program list. They are paying an upcharge for a flight that gets them to one of the 'silversea airports'. I can't remember the price. We looked into booking their own flight to one of the gateways but ended up using SS as I don't think the cost difference was great and they wanted the peace of mind that SS would take care of them if things went awry. turnip eater Posted April 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) From the UK Silversea use British Airways (BA), usually from Heathrow, but they will add regional flights from other airports to the cruise. As BA don’t have flights from Birmingham to Heathrow, your faced with the choice of booking flights yourself from Birmingham or catching a coach (Bational Express?) or train/bus/taxi to Heathrow.. Where were here you thinking of starting a cruise from? Edited April 12, 2019 by turnip eater
