Sebleo Posted April 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2019 I’ve stayed in pretty much every room type except for the suite. Carnival lists under the suite’s exclusive amenities: pillow top mattresses. Are they indeed different mattresses from the other rooms? i have not had a good nights sleep yet in a cruise because the beds are too firm for me. I even packed a pillow topper last time and lugged it on for nothing. Was not enough. I was thinking a foam topper might work better, but if the mattresses are softer in the suites, I might give it a try.
teknoge3k Posted April 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2019 I've never been able to tell a difference between a suite bed, and a regular balcony bed. They feel the same to me. Super soft and I sleep like a baby. I can't compare them to what may be in an interior though as I won't book that type cabin. 2
jessMN74 Posted April 15, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2019 I can't compare to any other rooms because our 1st cruise and only cruise so far we stayed in a Suite on the Magic and the bed was very comfortable. I don't know for sure if it is pillow top but it we all slept great.
RoperDK Posted April 15, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We cruise in Carnival suites often. I have never noticed a different bed type than in other cabin categories (balcony) that we have sailed in. I believe that the mention of pillow top mattresses began with the introduction of the Excel suite category. Since no one has sailed on the Mardi Gras yet, I think we will have to wait and see what differences there are in mattress type. I have always found that Carnival mattresses have been very comfortable. In fact, much more comfortable than mattresses on RCCL and Princess. Even in their suite cabins. 1

Being I'm the Last of the Big Time Spenders I rarely book anything other than a cheap interior cabin and have never been dis-satisfied with Carnival bedding!! Far and away, Carnival beds (any and all cruise ship beds) are the most comfortable sleeping conditions I have ever encountered. I read about these hard-as-rock mattresses that Ye Unfortunate are stricken with and simply do not comprehend their incredibly BAD Luck!
