Lloyd555 Posted January 6, 2022 Author #376 Share Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Interesting images with some new cabin blocks (Decks 6-7-8?) - a block consisting primarily of cabins - that will be installed above the blocks that we have seen sitting around for a while in the yard. These blocks have the balconies on one side, and what looks like the Royal promenade and what could be an open central area (à la Central Park) on the opposite side of the block. Janne-Petteri Kumpulainen A good view of one of the cabin blocks in the foreground. Close-ups of different views of two of the cabin blocks. What's with this deck? Odd looking block. Tall-Cruiser Posted January 7, 2022 #377 Share Posted January 7, 2022 @Lloyd555 I think these blocks lined up next to the building could also be for Icon. The one in the middle with the opening looks interesting. In fact they all do with what looks like wide outdoor promenade.

I'm thinking it could be a new type of suite deck with double balcony sizes, hence, why the windows are so far in that hasn't been finished building yet. Any blocks and pieces that show up in the near future will belong to Icon.

Chiliburn Posted January 7, 2022 #381 Share Posted January 7, 2022 So the cabins are prefabricate modules. Would they be installed those blocks now or will they put in later?
Tall-Cruiser Posted January 7, 2022 #382 Share Posted January 7, 2022 @Ethanol95You are probably right about those being Suites. @Lloyd555 That having been said though, the other balconies below seem narrow or is it the angle that is distorting the view. Typically the fabricated cabins are put in once all the blocks are installed.

You can see the size/height of the tiers compared to the people nearby (in small image on the right) and the welder from another image (on the left below) thatI overlapped with the main image. Those tiers remind me of an amphitheatre. There may be stairs on the right side that we cannot see or perhaps they have yet to be added... ... or there will be a ramp on each side of the tiers perhaps. It is thanks to some back & forth with Manfred in the FB group, that have me thinking that perhaps it'll be like an amphitheatre. Somewhere to sit and enjoy the view of the exterior of the ship or the ocean maybe. Virtual reality planetarium
Lloyd555 Posted January 8, 2022 Author #387 Share Posted January 8, 2022 A question asked in the FB group... Will the Icon have the traditional three-storey MDR or separate MDR venues?

Kinda look like stainless steel pipes. Any possibility of this being a water feature? A water tunnel effect would be cool, but idk the shape is right for that. Initially I was thinking it could be a "diving bell" type attraction, or a "water viewing" area that would mounted in the hull near the water line(could be at, below, or above really), but the shape doesn't really work for that I don't think. Pipes... I don't know much about video / LED walls, but I assume that because they may produce a lot of heat, proper cooling and ventilation need to be part of the overall project. This type of piping does not look appropriate for an LED wall -- they'd separate energized and unenergized conduits running in parallel to one another (power & data), and they'd run from top to bottom, just a couple feet apart in width.
Chiliburn Posted January 9, 2022 #391 Share Posted January 9, 2022 There seems to be two openings on opposite sides, with something that looks like stairs. Maybe it has a staircase from one deck to another. A walk through with LED artwork?

It's an optical illusion. 😄 The are blocks with curved edges that make it look like the top of the block is sloped/slanted.
