Early saver cancellation from 3 to 2 guests

If it is before the 75 days when regular penalties would kick in, and it is not the first two named guests, would the only penalty be the $50 and the rest of the third person fare could be used as a future credit?  Would the fare remain the same for the first 2 guests and no further penalties?  Would they be repriced since it is now 2 guests in the cabin and possibly be reassigned to a different cabin?  I know no show is an option but that would be more costly since the whole third person fare would be lost.

Yes, those are the terms.  Assuming you are speaking about the official booked rates, where the first and second person pay higher rates than the third.  If the three people equally shared the total costs, then the cruise credit will only be the actual third person rate less the $50 penalty.  The rates for the first two people will remain the same.  It is possible that the room location could be changed to a double occupancy room, but it depends on supply and demand of the booked category.

If you're not sure what the impact of cancelling the 3rd person would be, just log into your booking in Carnival, go to the section that reviews your remaining payment, and look for 'View Balance Details. At the bottom of that page there is a link you can click on, 'View Cancellation Information'. It will give you (or the 3rd person) all the specifics of what the cost of cancellation will be.
