Flying to NY from LAX

My son will be flying in from LAX on the morning of our cruise. Has anyone done this and where will I meet him when we get to port in NYC? I’m sure there will be quite a wait for him before he boards, is there somewhere that he can hang out comfortably. We’re staying in the Haven.

Which airport for a non-stop red-eyes, hopefully as those usually land early ?  Assumed both of you are making own ways to MCT ... ask the greeters or agent & look for the Haven check-in to fast track thru security, and you should be shown to the Haven lounge.  Depending on ship, itinerary & arrival time, etc. - Haven boarding typically start as early as 10:45 to 11 a.m. unless there are unforseen delays ...

Yes- tell us which airport and airline and we can tell you if there is a place to hang out at the airport early.  Then head to the port about 9 to arrive 10 and enjoy the Haven boarding area.

Is your son using the NCL shuttle transfer service from airport EWR LGA JFK to the pier ?

May have to wait a bit later in the morning for that service - airports are such fun to wait in @#$&* !

If so after claiming luggage in bag claim area look for the NCL representative.

Board the NCL bus drop the checked luggage with Haven cabin number on it with a porter at the pier.

(Small tip accordingly)

Alternatively - after claiming luggage take a cab to the pier or other method suggested by Readers here !

Pass thru security and look for the Haven check-in area (maybe near the

Platinum CAS (Casinos at Sea) registration area (Readers more detailed info ?).

Well, if you have to wait at EWR (Newark liberty international)

-Terminal A has a food court area to the top level without requiring going through security

- Terminal B has a seating area people wait in near where people exit from the Customs area

- Terminal C has a Dunkin’ doughnuts with tables and chairs in the baggage claim area.

so all of the above you have access to after exiting through security in the public side of the airport.c

In all cases, you probably need to be outside security in order to see the NCL rep to get info about the transfer to port (if using that). Other main option is buying an airline club pass (like United’s, available for around $25 on eBay) but that is only useful at EWR if your plane arrives in a concourse (A or C) where they have a club without exiting though security.

Whatever airport you arrive at if you have checked baggage/luggage best that you claim it soon on arrival least it become:

a security issue (abandon luggage)

a theft issue (baggage left unattended)

an airline mishandling problem (get Lost & Found hot on finding it)

Preventing others from claiming look-a-like baggage

There is a piece of mind here one less thing to worry about for your cruise - What am I gonna wear etc. !
