emckeeve Posted May 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2019 Does Holland America offer organized bridge games, especially on days at sea?
ithaca gal Posted May 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2019 There is a room and time for bridge but you are on your own for a partner.

Seems like I have seen passengers on the Roll Call bring sign-up sheets to the "Meet & Greet" to get participants.
emckeeve Posted May 4, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted May 4, 2019 Great. As long as there is a room, I can gather the people!
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 4, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2019 Check the daily program -- sometimes the will list the room and time that is available for people who want to play bridge on their own.
woody14h Posted May 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2019 HAL hasn't had organized Bridge games in years. A shame as it was a nice perk.

But there is a venue for bridge set aside just about every day. HAL just doesn't organize it.
woody14h Posted May 5, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2019 Almost all ships have a card room. Not quite the same.
WisRiver Posted May 5, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 5, 2019 If you want to play duplicate bridge, a passenger will have to take the lead. Last year on the Koningsdam transatlantic there were no duplicate boards. Otherwise there is a room where people meet and play social bridge, as was the case on the Zuiderdam TA in 2017. I think HAL supplied the cards, coffee and cookies.
emckeeve Posted May 7, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Thanks for all the replies. Our last few cruises were on small ships and there were no card rooms. We had to play in the dining room during off hours. So as long as there's a card room, we can find people, I'm sure. We're OK with casual party bridge instead of duplicate. But I'll bring bidding boxes! :-)
