Wait List room experience

Recommended Posts

Has anyone reserved a room that was wait listed? Can you share your experience, did you clear wait list and how long out from the cruise did it clear?

We just booked a concierge D on Explorer for a November 2020 Barcelona to Dubai cruise. It’s still 18 months out but all the Penthouse and above were wait listed. So we confirmed our reservation and asked to be waitlisted on all Penthouse level rooms.

Any guesses on being able to secure a waitlisted room?

We are on that November 2020 cruise and the upper suites have been booked up for some time.  While I have not waitlisted a cruise, I would think the odds are fairly good that you could get a suite in the category that you are interested in if you put a fully refundable deposit down.

In terms of putting the deposit on all three PH categories, it  likely doable but I would give Regent a call and ask.

Have you been on Explorer?  We usually book penthouse suites but on Explorer we book the Concierge D.  It is a very nice suite.  Yes, no butler but it really isn’t that big of deal.

Thanks for the responses, we put a full deposit on the concierge D and asked to be wait listed on all PH categories. Regent said we didn’t need to put any additional deposits for the wait list.

Explorer looks like a very nice ship and we are looking forward to returning to Regent.

A question about waitlisting. Do you get any choice of cabin number in the class you are waitlisted for, or does Regent assign the first cabin that becomes available in your class?  If Regent does just assign you a cabin you don’t want, can you still be on the list or do you just take what is offered.

Thanks, folks. We will see some of you in a week on Explorer!

You will be offered the first cabin in the category that you are waitlisted, but you are not obligated to take that option.  If you do not like the cabin offered, you may remain on the waitlist for another cabin option.
