St. Kitts Currency ?

I  am  not  sure  if  I am  asking  in the  correct  forum ,  but  can  someone  tell  me  what  type  of  currency  in used in St Kitts ?   Will the stores and restaurants  except  US  dollars ?   How about US  issued debit cards ?   If not ,  is there a place near the port where we can  exchange  money ?    TIA

US dollars are fine, along with US credit and debit cards.

Thanks  for  your  quick  response .   I   saw on a youtube  videos  that US  money was not excepted. (And we all know how reliable  those videos  are !)

They use the eastern Caribbean dollar but accept US dollars.  Also remember that if you use a cc use one with no foreign transaction fees. The current exchange rate is 1 east Caribbean dollar = .37 us dollar.

Every Caribbean country takes dollars except Cuba , at least the dozen plus we have visited

We used USD in St Kitts when we were there in February this year with no problem

Every port we've been to also and that's a lot.

I was just there last week--US$s are fine there and Nevis.

They were happy to take our US currency to pay for our $2 beers, cab rides, and food at the Discovery Beach bar.
