smeck Posted May 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2019 Very disappointing work by the cruise director Cruzin Susan. Tomorrow our first day in Maui absolutely nothing going on except for a dance party. The cruise compass looks as baron as a desert. No headline show , no production show just throw up a movie and job done.
Merion_Mom Posted May 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2019 Are you overnight in Maui? It is common for onboard activities to be very slight on those nights.
smeck Posted May 10, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 10, 2019 Yes we overnight, but no excuse it’s a night that is still part of the overall experience.
Bobal Posted May 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) We've often overnighted in ports and wouldn't expect a whole range of shows and activites when many many people will be off the ship. Even in ports where we decided to get back onboard early it's something we expected and didn't impact on our night, but then we don't need entertaining and enjoyed a quiet restaurant and the novelty of an (almost) empty ship. We overnighted in Maui and went to the Laihaina dinner show, as did many people from the ship. Even if you didn't want to do that the town has a really nice vibe. I can't imagine overnighting in Maui and wanting to stay onboard. Incidentally I think the idea of overnighting somewhere is to give you an even more full experience of the places you are visiting - not just spending every night on the ship 🙂 Edited May 10, 2019 by Bobal

steveru621 Posted May 10, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2019 It's typical for overnight stays.
MamaTene Posted May 11, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2019 Is the ship itself up to your expectations?
movierunner Posted June 6, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 6, 2019 WE just booked Hawaii to Vancouver and don't see any overnight ports. Maui is 8am to 11pm and the longest stop on the cruise. This will be our 4th RC cruise, Freedom 2017, Anthem 2018 and refurbished Navigator this past April/May. But still looking forward to this trip as it's for our 40th.
