Ordering Dinner for Cabin

For our last 5 HAL cruises we have had Neptune Suites and just gave our dinner menu selections to the Neptune Lounge concierge to place our orders. On our Veendam cruise in late Oct. we do not have a Neptune Suite, but would still like to order dinners in our cabin. How do we do this?

I have been told that you need to order within the first hour that the MDR is open (this may vary by ship), so keep this in mind.  Can have it delivered later, but often they tell you not within the first 60 minutes of the dining room opening (I assume that this has something to do with how they prepare the entrees.

Very True -- some ships you need to place your dinner order within an hour of the main dining room opening.  Others give you only a 1/2 hour time frame to order once the dining room opens.

The Room Service button can be used for that AND it can be used any time of the day for orders that you place from the cabin's menu selection.

Thank you for your responses. In the NS we received the dinner menu every afternoon. I guess the other cabin categories do not receive them, so I assume the menu is posted outside the main dining room.

The menu is available on the Navigator App.  I would guess it is also available outside the MDR but have never checked.  If you do not want to use the app then I would speak with Guest Services or your room stewards to request delivery, or stop by the dining reservations desk and ask them. Enjoy your cruise!

It generally is posted in the early afternoon.  If you are on a ship with the newer TV setup, it also is on the TV early morning - very convenient.

Just having done both, dinner in a veranda cabin is tight. I really don't know how enjoyable it would be with the lack of a decent table. One person has to sit on the couch and the other in the desk chair which are different heights. We get room service for breakfast and it works fine but it is certainly not relaxing dining when you are trying not to knock your coffee cup over with the muffin basket.

We have done a NS also and it is a whole lot more room to spread out, and the table outside works so well.
